Georgia on Your Mind – Stinchcomb edition

If you have an hour to take a look, it’s worth your time to learn a little about Matt and Jon Stinchcomb. I’m honored the interviewer is my son-in-law who is getting a master’s degree from UGA in a week from the New Media Institute through the Grady School. He’s the sports information coordinator at Greater Atlanta Christian.

Needless to say, I’m proud of and for Chris. He’s a Seminole who loves the Dawgs.

Enjoy and comment.

I've been a Dawg my entire life. UGA was always my dream school where I received 2 Terry College degrees and met my DGD wife. I've been a season ticket holder for over 30 years and love the in-stadium experience over anything from Section HD. My first game in Sanford Stadium was the 1981 Auburn game where we clinched the SEC championship. The best game I've attended in person was the Midnight Miss against Ohio State (nite, nite!). The best home games I've attended were the 1984 Clemson game (the Butler did it) and the 2013 LSU game (that 4th down is still the loudest single moment I've experienced between the hedges). The game I love to win is against the Handbags (FTMF), and the game I hate to lose is the NATS (Tuck Fech).

  1. Both Stinchcombes are DGDs. We could use more like them on the OL.

    Great work by the SIL.

Oh, and when did high schools start having SIDs?

  2. This will be a good listen as I head to Athenstown to move Daughter of Dawglicious out of Russell Hall this weekend!
(Side note, ee, my mom is also a Seminole that lives the Dawgs!)

  3. I just watched the whole interview…that was an hour well spent! The questions and answers at the end about taking what they learned over the years and applying it to parenting were especially helpful.

  4. Great interview! The Stinchcombs are awesome. I love hearing about their background. Hopefully we’ll get to see more of these!

    • The podcast here is done by a group of New Media Institute master’s students as their capstone project. They are responsible for recruiting interviewees to appear. Because my SIL knows the Stinchcombs from the GAC connection, he was able to get them on. I think they got the setting at the football facility.

  5. Well, he sure seems to have a knack for it. Maybe he can convince other Dawgs to sit down with him and talk awhile. Potential post…which former players would we most like to hear from in an interview?
