2026 Schedule to Be Released Tuesday

Who will Georgia’s three regular SEC opponents? Looks like we will find out on Tuesday.

I’m still thinking Auburn, Florida, and Kentucky, but I have some additional thoughts on what Greg Sankey has in mind for Georgia.

  1. The Buffalo Bills
  2. The 1985 Chicago Bears, in a Time Machine, twice yearly
  3. Ohio State

Additionally, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if the 2026 schedule compels us to play Auburn at Auburn again, and for most of our marquee games to played at the opponent’s site. Hell, at this point, I wouldn’t be shocked if all 9 games were away games.

In 2026 and 2027.

  1. I think UGA’s AD has balls, unlike the previous AD who couldn’t bust a grape.

  2. I hope we don’t get stuck with Kentucky. Why? Because who cares about Kentucky! I realize that we’ve played them a lot, but you can say that about Vanderbilt too. Kentucky doesn’t move the needle in excitement when we play them as much as Florida, Auburn and either South Carolina (as we’re THEIR biggest and most played conference rival) or Tennessee. Of course, the only reason I see us getting Kentucky or even South Carolina would be because they’re NOT top tier teams and maybe the powers that be don’t think we should have to play 3 of the biggest brands in the conference permanently.

    • Agree about Kentucky..just not a lot of enthusiasm for it. If you beat them, so what? They’re usually playing for respectability and a seemingly bored UGA squad gets their best shot.

    • Yeah and it seems like we get somebody hurt in that Kentucky game a lot of times. So you lose somebody beating some slappie that think they’re bad asses. And I can’t stand Stoops. I never liked him but when he went for that pointless last second touch down just a prove a point it confirmed every I ever thought about that guy.

    • I want Kentucky if we can play them in October in Lexington, keeneland is nice that time of year.

  3. Auburn, Florida and South Carolina.
    (wild guess) .
The distance and ease of travel may or may not be taken into consideration.

  4. TAMU, Mizzou and Arky because that generates more revenue in some Ai model at Disney HQ. They will rotate us against the gators in Jax and we’ll only play Auburn away every other year.

  5. We will get SCar. It would be nice to get Auburn back to a home game in odd years so that we have them and Tech H/A instead of paired….

    • Personally I hope SC isnt part of it. I hate playing them. We are always supposed to beat them so it’s not like it’s exciting for us. But for them that game is The Most Awesomest Greatest Championship of Galaxy game and they think their game is a rivalry. They truly think that game is just as important to us as it is to them and that it’s a heated rivalry. Stupid fan base, shitty stadium with ridiculous heat levels, dumbass “traditions” from the stupid fan base like techno music for no apparent reason and waving towels around. Everything about them is cheesy and embarrassing.

  6. I hope it is not South Carolina just to piss off their fans who think our game is a huge rivalry equally tOSU-Michigan and Okie v Texas. The two hottest places in the universe are (1) Columbia SC and (2) the face of the sun.

  7. Auburn, Florida and Cannon U will be the ticket. I’m expecting to see A & M, Oklahoma and LSU also, probably all on the road. Not sure what form the almost inevitable hosing will look like for us, but its to be expected, for sure!

  8. Here’s my thought:
Florida (Atlanta) – we’re the home team in 26
    Auburn (H)
    Kentucky (A)
    TAMU (A)
    South Carolina (A)
    LSU (H)
    Oklahoma (A)
    Vandy (H)
    Arkansas (H)

They could absolutely do as much as possible to have 2 more years of games played this year (start with a blank slate):

Florida (Neutral) – considered a home game for scheduling
    Auburn (H)
Kentucky (A) – they are likely the 3rd permanent
TAMU (A) – this is almost assured
    South Carolina (A)
    Tennessee (H)
LSU (H) – haven’t played them in Sanford since 2013
    Arkansas (A)
    Oklahoma (H)

  9. The analysis of why someone doesn’t watch Kentucky is not thinking strategically. If UK is not a permanent rival some team against whom we are fighting for first place will have the advantage of a guaranteed win. If any team gets a gift of a guaranteed win from the scheduling gods I want it to be us and not, say, Texas.

    • Some of our “fans” are just plain stupid who prefer a quality opponent over a better chance of victory. These “fans” are clearly not UGA alumni.

      • Don’t know if you are a ticket holder or not, but as someone who is, I want quality matchups for my money. If I wanted to be a fan of a team who wins against inferior competition, I would be a Clemson fan.

Yes, I would rather play Alabama than Mississippi State, or a top flight OOC opponent rather than Marshall or Austin Peay.

  10. Youre kinda wrong. We have to play the 85 bears at their home every year so it doesnt interfere with Bama.

  11. I’m thinking we keep Auburn as a annual rival but we have to play them at Auburn every year.

  12. I would rather see Ole Miss than USCe, Kentucky or Tennessee. We always played Ole Miss back in the day and they will eventually slip back into mediocrity. Plus the tailgating there is awesome from what I hear.

    • Agree for tailgating purposes, and because they’re entertaining to watch right now. But they want LSU, Miss State and Arky.
