Kirby Would Be Proud

Alright, alright, alright…

Glad you enjoyed the atmosphere, Matthew. Just come on back if you ever wanna try again, we told you now thrice, you summanabitch, we’re the best there’s ever been.

  1. Gotta give the guy credit, that’s a great attitude. As annoying as his “a’ight a’ight a’ight” can be and the arrogant title of Minister of Culture or whatever it is, it sounds like he was great with the fans.

  2. I agree with him. I’ve heard that place loud a number of times but, last Saturday equaled or exceeded all of those times. And I’m not sure I’ve heard a single moment louder than when Cash came down with that onside kick.

  3. Wish I could go thru life with his attitude, but I lack the talent, abs and money.

  4. Thanks for sharing. I saw that he was positive as a headline on the AJC but I refuse to pay them to view.

    • Damn, I am agreeing with you twice in two posts. Definitely nowhere near as loud as Tennessee ’22 (rivaled only by LSU ’13). Apropos of nothing, Matthew was probably the biggest celeb on that sideline since Peyton was there for Tennessee ’22! He seemed to be hanging out and having a good time for most of the game, so good for him for (true to form) being a pretty chill, cool guy!

    • Thought the same thing HM. I was at both and that Tennessee game was unmatched. Maybe had to do with the cloud cover and rain keeping the noise trapped in but it CRAZY loud.

      • Yes, like hurt your ears loud. I was never more proud of and to be a UGA fan. No one left and it got louder the harder the rain fell. I true “not today satan” moment for Tennessee.

  5. Peter Burns proclaimed at the beginning of the year that the SEC now runs through Austin Texas.
I am sure that will be tge chant next year

  6. If we wanted his opinion we’d a beat it out of him (reckon we were too busy terrorizing all the other Texicans). That being said, going on the Theo Von show and dropping that on the thousands of bros watching is good for the brand. Let the SEC run through Austin, Nolan Smith II and I will be working from the we a 7-5 team perspective, looking to get better every rep and we’ll be a lot cooler that we did.

  7. I’m so tired of him. If Texas wants to let him be on their sideline that’s up to them but why do we need to see him on TV? Apparently there some idiots in our fan base wondering who Georgia’s version of him could be. They wonder which celebrity we could have on our sidelines. How about the team? How about the game being about our team and not some drugged up jackass with an overinflated sense of their importance?

    • We had Kevin (Brian Baumgartner) from The Office. Pound for pound he’s worth at least 2.5 McConaghey’s.

Also, we had Quavo. I only know because I allegedly sat next to his family at the game, and his sister introduced herself as “Quavo’s sister.” I introduced myself as “Tom’s brother,” but I don’t think she got the joke…

      • Quavo is a legit Dawg fan. He also has football props. He was the QB at his Gwinnett County HS. Berkmar, iirc

        • Well to paraphrase Ron Swanson, I don’t know who Quavo is and I don’t intend to learn.

  8. After getting his ass kicked again he’s pretty a’right about it. Gracious to the home crowd that was very loud. I’ll take that as it seems intended as respectful. No doubt the light show and explosions have added to the noise and overall experience. The crowd was everything I’ve now come to expect. Which is way different than pre Kirby for most home games. The one off exception just for me the gold standard of intense noise was 2013 LSU. That game was like a fight with body blow after body blow who gets the ball last wins. Until that final defensive stand.

    • We had James Brown perform an original song at halftime with the Red Coats. Can’t improve on perfection.

Although, Kim Basinger is/was much easier on the eyes.

  9. I have tempered my exuberance for the absolute ecstasy of our lads turning the bovines back out to pasture, lest I tempt the Karmic Bitches of old. This victory was way up there for me—not NC, mind you—but if we never make it back to the promised land, I can sleep well knowing we sent the scourge of the SWC back to where they belong. And to me, that’s aight, aight, aight.

    • That post is worthy of being inscribed on a bronze plaque and bolted right next to one of the gates into Sanford Stadium.

  10. Mathew keeps getting older, but those college girls stay the saaaame age….party at the moon tower!!
