For those folks in Gainesville who are checking flight logs and tea leaves to see if the Lane Train is coming to Hogtown, Kiffin has some news for you.

Looks like the train is heading back to Oxford, folks. Or at least, that’s his story, and he’s sticking to it.

Better than getting fired on a tarmac.

  2. We will see. Nick Saban got all mad at a press comfy and yelled at a bunch of reporters that he wasn’t going to Alabama.

    Person I don’t think Kiffin is going to Florida. But we won’t know until we know. I am going to freaking love it if he spurns them.

  3. I don’t think the Laner is leaving for Florida. If the LSU job opens, look out … people in Oxford may make the response in Knoxville to Kiffin’s departure for SoCal look tame in response. Those folks detest LSU.

  5. If you’re already making 9 million and your boss is working on a new contract to pay you more. What’s a few million more over quality of life. He’s king of the world in Oxford. If he follows his hero SOS to FU he’ll never replace Spurrier or Urban without minimum 3 national championships. In Gainesville or even Baton Rouge you’re a single losing streak away from the hot seat. Now add in the 9 game league schedule he was very much against. I’ll be surprised if he leaves. The FU search could become a real dumpster fire 🔥

      • Their best chance is Kiffin and his ex wife are on again. She’s in Oxford as an FU grad whose father is a long time gator coach. Just guessing but my money is on Kiffin having removed that nose ring. Hope she likes life as the First Lady in Oxford.

  8. The greatest head football coach in Ole Miss history is Johnny Vaught. His winning percentage was 72.2% Through yesterday Lane’s percentage at UM is 72.8%. Kiffin is winning at a higher rate. Vaught won 190 games. At his current winning percentage he would pass Vaught when he was age 65. That is doable. He could be the greatest coach in Mississippi history. He will never be the greatest coach in UF history.

  9. I talked to a friend this morning who’s son is on staff with Ole Miss. Said that Ole Miss is willing to match what ever Flurada offers. But also said “Dad, do you have any blue and orange and can you pull for FU?”. Dad is an Auburn alum… Freshwater is only loyal to freshwater. I think he knows he will most likely never win a natty at Ole Miss, but will have the recruiting resources to win one at FU.

  12. I think Lane learned his lesson with the UT/USC debacle. Expectations at Mississippi are ones he’s created; expectations with a gazillion-dollar contract at FU would be incalculable. Does he really want that?
