Kelly Blue Book

Wondering this morning if Brian Kelly’s accent will be more of a Pennsylvania twang or perhaps a West Coast one.

One things for certain, football just means a heckuvalot more in the SEC, and apparently in Louisiana, especially. This might hurt the coffers, to be sure.

Yeesh. Forget about whether or not they’re playing Neck at the games…they’re coming after one.

Mah family, indeed.

  1. Soooooooooooo, you are saying, when retreads go flat, there is no warranty….

  2. R..u..n..n..o..f..t…is what’s about to happen to the carpetbagger and his famalee.

  3. This was one of the dumbest hires of a high profile coach. He has never fit in. You just knew they were going to turn on him at the first opportunity. It’s happening.

Sure, Saban was a Yankee when he came to Baton Rouge, but he was comfortable in his own skin down there (and left at the first NFL opportunity). Kelly acted like a true carpetbagger.

    • Nothing finer than a coon-ass implosion. Been overrated and overhyped since Stupid Ed’s last year! Yall think Fla/Tenn folks are crap talkers — the kings of crap talking reside in Baton Rouge, LA. They deserve everything their broke-ass gets.

  4. Four years ago Sunbelt Billy and ND’s coach Brian Kelly were the media’s flavor of the season for can’t miss hires on the coaching search. Just like their weekly pontificating click bait stories. Their accuracy is usually less than the weather man. Yet every season they want us to know they know best. Yep Texas is #1 and Penn State is the second best preseason team. We’re the experts we know what’s best. That’s why we’re going to pick the playoff teams for you.

I’m warming more to removing the cup cake games and greatly expanding the playoffs. I know that’s a weird idea settling it on the field removing the politics and media bias. For chef’s kiss all games aired via SkyCast without talking head announcers.

  5. Do they can him today or at the end of the season? To get to the front of the line of the good coaches for hire department, I suspect it will be any time now. That snowball has started rolling down the hill getting larger by the day. How soon do FSU and Auburn follow? There are too many high-profile jobs open that they will have to compete with to wait if they are going to make a move.
To quote Henry Kissinger, “Whatever must happen ultimately should happen immediately,”
Everyone knows it’s no longer a matter of if, just a matter of when they can Kelly.
Every one of these openings means that the cost of retaining your coach just went up tremendously. Expect a letter asking for more money any day now.

    • They ride it out. 1) nobody on the current staff capable of limping to the finish line 2) like Tallahassee, they have no $ 3) if they beat Bama or show some grit in two weeks, it saves his ass.

The bigger story here is what’s occurring under the radar at College Station, TX. The Ags are for real.

      • Living here in the DFW area amongst all the whiney T-sips, I’m actually kind of enjoying this. Never really cared one way or the other about TAMU, but I detest anything that wears orange. Watching those arrogant A-holes in Austin sweating about the beatdown that TAMU is going to put on them puts a big smile on my face. They thought they were going to come in and move to the front of the line in the SEC. They should have listened to TAMU when they told them that the SEC is NOT the BIG XII. No give me’s here. The were the big fish in that little pond. Now they are just a regular fish swimming amongst Great Whites.

  6. …and all the cajuns are saying in their mother tongue…
on est dans la merde / we’re fucked

    • Yes…but they won’t find them. Not how the system works. Correct question is how will Jimmy Sexton line everyone up. Kirby gonna get a raise for sure.

    • Three things in Kelly’s favor. First giant buy out, the large number of schools with jobs open and LSU is still paying coach O. The high demand for coaches means even more ridiculous contracts to get your guy. Jimmy Sexton will make it so.

Does LSU decide it’s more cost effective to ride it out and fire him early next season saving millions. Getting first in line for hopefully a lower demand of new coaches.

      • I’ve read several stories about coach O looking to get back into coaching because his buyout is coming to an end in December, AND he owes half of the $16M buyout to his ex-wife. Brother can you spare 8 Million??
This from FOX 8 TV New Orleans
“Three remaining payments are to occur in June, July and December 2025 to finish the coach’s $16,269,000 payout. The state Supreme Court said half the amount — $8,134,500 — must be paid to Kelly Orgeron.

      • I read he was in a meeting with the AD this morning discussing which coaches to fire and he stormed out. That made it easy he’s now fired. Of course Lane Kiffin is the top candidate to replace Kelly.

  7. may that carpetbaggers reign of terror continue to infinity & beyond.. c’est vrai, mes amis des Bulldawgs!
