Previewing 2026

To date, we only have four guaranteed games on the 2026 docket.

We get to schedule 7 more. Who do you want to see on the 2026 schedule? Who do you hope we don’t see again after the 2025 season (for a while…or ever).

Personally, I hope we keep Auburn and Tennessee. I’d like to avoid Texas and Alabama. Kind of on the fence about Ole Miss, but would like to lose Kentucky and Miss St and see Texas A&M and Oklahoma.

Have at it in the comments.

  2. I’m with you JP, I’m tired of playing Kentucky and Miss State. Although Kentucky has gotten better under Stoops, I’m ready to see something different. I don’t think we’ve played Texas A&M since 2019. We have played Alabama more lately than in the past ten years, but I’d like to keep them because ain’t nothing like beaten that elephants big ass.
    Keep the Barners (Auburn Sucks), and the toothless hounds (FTMF).

  3. I hope we keep Auburn and it’s moved to the 2nd Saturday in November like it’s supposed to be. The rest will probably flip for the next 2 years.

  4. I can’t recall if they ever revealed what the new scheduling model is or not since Texas and Oklahoma joined the conference. I’m assuming we keep Auburn and Florida and will now get LSU, TAMU, Vanderbilt, Mizzou, S. Car., and Oklahoma for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.

    I’m good with that rotation since the Gators and Auburn are longer standing rivals than the Vols. I can still remember when Georgia and Tennessee didn’t play every year and don’t mind getting a vacation from Kneeland stadium. Even though I likely won’t make the trip I am looking forward to Georgia finally playing in College Station.

    The team I would be happy to never play again is Missouri. They don’t fit in the SEC and I don’t ever get excited about playing them. I wish they could be traded back to the Big XII in a three-way trade involving WVA and Clemson.

  5. If the schedule has the 8 games with play in every stadium in 4 (the flip of today), we get:
    USCjr (Columbia)
    Candy (Athens)
    Hogs (Fayetteville)
    Mizz-who (ColumbiaW)
    Corn Dogs (Athens)
    AgCult (College Station)
    Laters (guessing Athens)

    Replace Hogs and Mizz-who with Auburn (Athens) and Kentucky (Lexington) and move the OU game to Norman to get who the SEC will probably select if they stay with the 8 games to protect the “secondary” rivalries.

    Greg McGarity would say:
    @Texas
    @Alabama
    @Auburn
    @Florida (not neutral)
    @Tennessee
    @Texas A&M
    @Oklahoma (or Ole Miss)

    • And @Ole Miss (needed to get to 8)

      The bottom line is the SEC and ESPN need to come to an agreement to get to 9 games, so the scheduling issue can get put to bed.

      What odds do the Refugees give of that home and home with Louisville staying on the schedule? I give it 1 in 4 at best.

      • If they go to 9, I see the schedule makers switching USCjr with at either Texas or Alabama with Auburn and Kentucky as our other 2 permanent opponents.

        I really think they want to stay with 8 and back off the “play in every stadium every 4 years” requirement. 2/6 or 3/5 is the way this thing appears to be heading.

        • Either way, the next two years are going to give us national championship scheduling.

      • I have to disagree about 9 conference games. * conference and 2 Power 4 OOC games? Sign me up. The other leagues all claim they’re just as good as the SEC, and the SEC “whines about the toughness of the SEC when they really arent that tough.”? Fine. Come play us, home and home.

        I also am sick of hearing the whining about the soft games the week before rivalry week. What difference is it to them when we play them? They all play cupcakes, too.

        I suspect Disney wants more “product” and probably will get it, but make them pay. We dont need them as much as they need us. I dont care how they line up the 12 or 14 or 16 team playoff (I hate all 3) so they can set up a 2 loss team like Ohio St who never would have made the field of 4 (and didnt deserve to).

        I realize we arent going back. Too much money presumed to be out there. But I dont like it at all. YMMV.

    • $chedule maker$ view UGA football vs burnt urunge nation as a commercial extravaganza, playing in the regular season, then in the $eccg, getting them in the cfp invitational is a bit much, getting the bammers once, sometimes twice a year was liveable, cause there was always something at stake, not so much vs the hook ’em assholes…GO DAWGS!!

  6. I don’t mind playing Kentucky at home so much, but we always get physically beat up in Lexington, regardless of how bad we beat them and pay for it the next week. I enjoy tormenting the Coots by not having them on the schedule. It frustrates them because they circle us every year and it seems that we are almost as important as Clemson to them. I enjoy that frustration.

  7. Auburn (home)
    Tennessee (home)
    @USC
    @Vandy
    Oklahoma (home)
    @Texas A&M
    LSU (home)

    • This would be great. It actually makes sense, so I wouldn’t expect the league to do it.

    • I don’t see the Tennessee game occurring in 2026-27 under any scenario unless the SEC just decides to make up the other 7 games every year. They aren’t planned to be one of our permanent opponents under a 3 permanent opponent schedule.

  8. You know the SEC will try to give us the toughest slate possible. We still haven’t been to Aggie-land in the 13 years they’ve been in the conference which is abhorrent. I expect to keep Texas because Texas, probably drop bammer for AliceU. So maybe TAMU, Texas, LSU, USCjr, Auburn, Tennessee, Florida and either Kentucky or Mizzou. I think we drop both crooked letter teams. If they go to 9 games and reorganize things again, who knows.

  9. As posted in the past, if Auburn isn’t on the schedule my interesting will be greatly diminished. I’d love for it to move back to a November date.

    We need to come up with permanent games, and I don’t care about how long it takes UGA to play the old Big12 / SWC teams. CFB is about tradition. I like weekend trips to Nashville, seeing the fall leaves in Kentucky and maybe watching the horses run, riding in my truck on a cool fall day to tame a tiger before roasting a turkey.

  10. AT Louisville!? The campus area around the stadium is cool. BUT That most of that town is a decadent shithole.

  11. Would like to keep auburn to continue the curb stomp.
    Keep Kentucky, Vandy, & Oklahoma for road games.
    Home games, lsu, t a&M, usc jr & arky.
    I presume ESPN will dictate to the league to adopt a NFL like schedule based on final league standings, so they can make a TV event of the schedule reveal

  12. TU and Bammer should rotate off, since we’ve got back-to-back home and homes. Floriduh and the Barners are mortal locks. OU should rotate into TU’s spot for that game the SEC cancelled for us before the merger. Louisville is our ‘big’ non-conference opponent. We’ve also seen enough of Ole! Miss lately. UK *could* rotate off in place of Arky. SCu seems obvious, LSU would be nice, Mizzou, and maybe UT for conference play? I’d love for us to put Ga Southern back into the non-con rotation, and then pick a directional school for the filler game.
