Not much to say about this glorified scrimmage other than, more in-game experience for the young pups. Keep everyone healthy and get tuned up for SEC play.
This post is your open thread for comments throughout the game.
Go Dawgs!
Keep everyone healthy above all else today. Hopefully all the folks attending get to stay dry. It’s been raining here, Chattanooga, all morning.
So far dry in the stadium. We are under an overhang and should stay dry. Student section is beginning to fill up.
So, apparently $200+ per month for Xfinity isn’t enough to watch this game. Even though I have a Disney account (Disney channel and Hulu), I still don’t have whatever plan I need to watch this. Bullshit.
Now I have to listen to Scott Howard. Sounds like Dawgs are just farting around anyway.
Unfortunately, this one takes the additional ESPN+ package to see. You can sign up for it for the game but you’ll have to pay at least one month.
I have Dish with the SEC network. I downloaded the ESPN app. Gave all the required sign in information and watched most of the game. The stream did not start until 3:30. I guess they did not get the memo. DAWGS played like crap but the streaming service was crisp and clean.
Came to bitch about same thing. Used to be included with your ESPN fee on Xfinity but now Devil…errr…Disney wants even more money. #FTMF
It finally let me in. It wasn’t until the 2nd quarter, though.
Maybe Xfinity was doing me a favor. LOL
Stream started at 3:30 instead of 2:30.
We moved to Maryland from Georgia this summer and apparently we can’t listen to the 95.5 WSB stream of the broadcast outside of the Atlanta area, and despite having YouTubeTV, ESPN app, and Disney+, that’s not good enough to watch the game on TV. This is a bit ridiculous. The UGA app streaming broadcast of Scott Howard craps out every 30sec or so.
It finally popped up on the ESPN app. Have to search Georgia to see it with SEC Network and not ESPN plus
You are correct sir! For others, log out of ESPN app then go back in and you should get access via cable provider.
Thanks! I see it now but it seems SECN+ isn’t part of my TV package. Oh well, I guess the house needs cleaning anyway.
The app gave me trouble last week too. Here’s tbe direct link. No app needed.

That’s the radio feed.

Thanks! Works much better than the app.
I have gone directly to the WSB 95.5 site on my phone and streamed it live and it is pretty strong. Hope that helps.
Thanks! That works for me too. I guess it didn’t like me accessing through the iHeartRadio app.
I have it on the TunedIn app but I am local.
Chuck 103.7 is blocking me.
Listen to the station out of Augusta Ga. WGAC 95.1
Did I see Gaston’s backup Jackson limping off?
I did
Dammit Bobo.
Not Bobo. O-line coach needs to back up to get his check this week.
We need Gunner to throw it downfield, even when he is scrambling… he is not looking at open guys running free
Looks like o-line worries are confirmed. They can’t stop an FCS 3 man rush. Gonna get fugly once SEC games start.
I’m not a Searels fan but we are already down to the 3rd string RG and 2nd string RT after 1 game after an entire camp of a diff starting 5. Give them a little space.
It’s an FCS team. No.
Kirby getting a lot of coaching points to work on so far. Nice interception from Ellis.
Really want to see the D get the stop and we put points on the board in the 2 minute drill.
Random 1st half musings:
Gunner took a hit on his scramble up the middle on the first series. Let’s not be doing that.
Frazier in Kirby’s doghouse. Fumble and failure to punch ball in.
Really poor execution at the end. I blame the coaches too. Too cure. Just move the damn pile!
Cash Jones is a DGD…but not a very good RB.
Gunner is in his “room for improvement” zone.
Kind of like the AP logo and unis.
Im not the the type who loves getting apoplectic about sleepy play against an overmatched opponent but getting an inch from the goal line not being able to get it done against Austin Pee is just inexcusable. And Bobo aint done himself any favors getting on the one inch line and wanting to throw passes. Pretty shitty effort so far.
Failure to score at the half was without a doubt some of the most pathetic play from a Georgia offense I’ve seen in a long time. Play like this next week and Tennessee will embarrass us. Couldn’t block, couldn’t catch, couldn’t run on a clearly inferior team. Sad.
Oof. The offense looks like reheated shit today. We had best hope this is a sleepwalking performance or else Tennessee is going to embarrass us.
That last swan dive at the goal line was a classic Charley Foxtrot.
Four downs to make a foot and came away empty. That was one of the worst minutes of UGA football I’ve seen..and it was nearly a pic six for Austin P.
I think Gunner is staring down his receivers some. He’s quick on his cuts when he runs it.
Second half may be a nail biter..I sure hope not.
Granted it was shoestring tackle, but what the Hell is going on when one of their linemen is even laying a finger on our ball carrier that far in the backfield.
Actually 7 or 8 tries inside the 5 given the penalty on Peay.
Pretty weak performance by the offense.
Pathetic. Decent play calls with abhorrent execution by the o-line. No excuse. Still not sure why they did not pound the rock on every play.
The O-line has a LOT of work to do. Way too many guys getting into the backfield almost as fast as the snap.
They’re down three starters. It ain’t about work. It’s continued shitty luck with injuries. Although I would say at this point I don’t know how we haven’t at least tried different cleats. It just doesn’t make sense that we would have three years in a row with multiple people going down with ankle injuries and not think maybe we are using shitty cleats.
If this was against a real opponent, then I would understand. Our 2nd and 3rd team guys ON PAPER should be better than 90% of their starters. What I’m seeing is that our 2nd and 3rd string OL would be 2nd and 3rd sting at Austin Peay as well. I understand continuity and not being in the right position. That’s going to happen with backups. That’s not what I’m seeing for the most part. I’ve been focusing on them and have seen them just get flat out beat. Several times I’ve seen them just get run over. When we were down on the goal, hat on hat, mano a mano, we should be knocking them back 2-3 yards on the snap. Instead, it’s a standoff or they are driving our guys back. HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM.
Stacy’s mom. She’s got going on Stacy Searles. Stacy’s mom
Pass interference on several plays not called. Did the running back break a leg it looked like it from my seat. I sit behind the 0 in the Bulldog Endzone in the club section. Game stopped for weather lightening in the area.
#9 one of the new TEs.
I wasn’t planning on watching this one as I was catching up on farm stuff but headed home ahead of the weather. That 2nd quarter was pretty terrible. When I opened Twitter at the half “Mike Bobo” was trending. There appears to be some angst about his continued employment …
The shots of the sky they are showing ain’t promising. That shit is not going anywhere for a while.
Cash Jones just looked like a dumbass on that play at the goal line but throwing a pass there was even dumber. Nate Frazier is a hell of an athlete but he is so damn indecisive as a running back. I don’t know enough about playing running back to really know but it seems like he doesn’t read blocks well at all and just about needs perfect blocking or he’s going to be dashed to the ground. That was a truly Richtian first half.
I really hope Frazier can reach his potential, but lack of ball security & zero threat of breaking a big run don’t seem to bode well for him
I’ve never understood the love for Frazier. He goes down east and it always seems like he only can get 2 when we need 3 or 3 when we need 4. Every time he gets the ball, even last year, in short yardage situations I was always expecting him to get stuffed. And he usually did and does.
Maybe after 2 years of shitty offensive play Kirby will realize it’s not the fault of all of our blue chip recruits.
What a hot pile of garbage. No top-tier team has a performance like this against AP. No sleepwalking, injuries, conservative play calling, spoiled QB excuses will cut it this time. Just hot garbage and everyone knows who the problem is. Hiring Bobo and the retreads will go down as the worst decision he ever made when his story is told.
Radar shows 3 consecutive TS cells moving through beyond 6:00. Oof.
I tell you it won’t show anytime soon… 3 consecutive TDs. 🤣
It’s pouring in Normaltown.
Look I agree the calls to throw passes down there on the goal line were idiotic and Bobo deserves what criticism he gets for it. But it ain’t Mike Bobo’s fault our linemen cant block Austin Pee well enough to move the ball an inch. I’m sorry but it just isn’t. Y’all can play the “Well Searles is the line coach and he’s under Bobo so…” game but that’s stupid. Searles is the line coach because Kirby wants him to be. It ain’t Bobo’s call. Again, he made a fool of himself calling pass plays on the goal line. Again. I’m with you there. Bobo aint the reason the offensive line is playing like a bunch of girls.
After we wasted our time outs, we had to throw to preserve a shot at a FG. Of course, we saw how that worked out.
Even mediocre blocking in that sequence means we score something.
We had no timeouts and only a few seconds left. If we run and get stuffed (which apparently they realize is likely to happen) we wouldn’t have time to get a field goal or another play off. Had to call throws there and gunner hit two separate receivers on n the hands and chest. Both should have been caught. It wasn’t okay calling. Bad luck and bad hands. That said, we are in trouble with this O-line. They are downright bad.
It wasn’t *play* calling. Autocorrect.
Move BoBo’s flat footed country ass out of the booth and put his fat ass on the sideline the remainder of the year. So we can watch Kirby eat his ass out in person.
So Bobo is too Southern? Or excuse me, “country”? That’s the problem? I guess somehow that just hasn’t hindered Kirby. He has been able to overcome it. lol. Good Lord.
Damn son. If that’s your take on that post then maybe I should repost it. Or maybe you lay off the white claws. Not sure
Man you said it. You can make white claw jokes if you want but you said that dumb shit.
Welp, yeah, at first I was hoping to watch us via my TV provider, and kept getting in and then having to start over so I quit and listened to Scott Shouter. Didn’t sound too good even though we’re ahead. Was taking in the watching UK jump ahead of UF 10-0, but that just lost a little shine, too.
It’s starting to stop!
You gave away your southern roots for an Illini
I didn’t see that last series and only saw the play by play on ESPN. No way you run it there with no timeouts. You either throw it or take the 3. For the complaining about Bobo (and some of that is fair), that’s on Kirby.
It’s bigger than that series. The end of the half was an exclamation point on poor offensive play that has plagued us for a while. Poor blocking schemes, bad QB play, receivers struggling, running backs that seldom break runs over 3 or 4 yards. The offense needs an overhaul.
At midfield in the 2nd, Bobo called a reciever screen to the left. The D-end tipped it and it went incomplete. So what does Bobo do? He runs the same damn play to the right and the DB read it and blew it up. Bewildering. So far the offense today looks like last years with a worse O-line and a QB who only throws check downs and screens.
Sheessh, 960 is taking phone calls and it’s as bad as GTP!!!
Earliest is 5:30 warmups.
They take this safety stuff a little overboard. No you can’t play in lightning but good grief. It cant lighting anywhere for miles for twenty minutes?
8 miles
Kirby is just creating adversity…playing with one hand behind our backs…
He’d be happy to call it a day and have all week to rub their noses in this…
Eggzacly.
So we went all last season choosing to struggle offensively? Was he waiting to play with both hands for after the Notre Dame game? And funny we didn’t intentionally create adversity when Monken was here and that got us two Nattys but then Kirby decides to try this new strategy out?
Right! There’s no way the same KS I saw chewing Bennet’s ass at halftime of the Michigan game is intentionally “creating adversity”.
no QB running, running when we should pass 1 yrd line and 3 sraight drops…never covers… because he puts the pups in,,,looks like a little calculated mismanagement to ….wait for it….
“create adversity”…
I always say it doesn’t matter the opponent. You throw everything you have at them. How the hell you gonna get good at anything?? Bobo will be the downfall of Kirby I’m afr.
This is a real concern. Bobo has never been the answer. For all the changes Kirby has made, bringing Bobo back and everyone pretending like he’s not the problem is the most Georgia thing ever. We need a fresh OC. Kirby would rather have an OC that won’t leave than an OC that is worth a shit.
“the most Georgia thing ever”
The back to back Georgia?
I’m thinking more like 2007-2014 Georgia.
Any update on the delay?
It’s over and the crowd and hot temps are both gone! lol
Is it just me or does this seem harder than it should be
Hello 2024
Kirby’s not letting Gunner run…which is Smart…
Maybe we can take some notes from the Peay receivers on how to get open down field?
It appears Gunner is saving his arm. Throwing down field to open receivers could result in touchdowns. Lessening the opportunity to throw more completions on short passes.
Ok, has anyone kept count on the number of receiver screens Bobo has ran today? Has to be double digits.
The offense looks like shit. There’s no other way to describe them. They just look like shit. Cant hold onto the ball. Cant move the ball against mighty Austin Pee. And these announcers are about to orgasm on live TV they love it so. And Phillips and Bowens are better than Frazier. Frazier is a really good athlete but he’s not all that much as a college running back.
I’m told the players suck and Bobo is the greatest OC of all time.
The best way to fix this is to hire someone to teach these guys how to play.
Not sure what the title could be but it can’t be OC or OLine coach.
Aaaaaaaaaw. Somebody has their little feewins hurt cause they can’t have their way about the OC.
Does Gunner hate all of our receivers except Colby Young
Gunner has the field vision if my granny.
I don’t know whether to be concerned or not? It was Austin-Peay. You gonna show your wares against them? I’m reserving judgment until next week.
My heart would love to believe they’re holding back, but my eyes, my head and my gut say we’re in trouble.
I’m holding on to the hope that they’re holding back.
I’m pretty sure they are with the pass rush. The D only gave up two FGs and had a great goal line stand. They could be very special by mid season. It’s the O that has most of us worried.
Is she near sighted too?
There must be something in that rain that’s falling today. North Anderson Cow College is struggling with Troy and The Ditch Lizards are hanging on for dear life with USF.
Looking like it may be a long season.
Everyone is going to be looking to pay us back…This is looking like a CMR team that gets everybody’s best shot.
Biggest concern is Gunner not seeing wide open receivers down field because he’s staring down his primary. ..another big concern is pass blocking.. a couple of times he gave up on the pocket too soon when he had really open guys downfield..
And do we have a QB sack after two games?
I realize the D is playing it vanilla and not showing the blitzes but good grief..this was two cupcakes. Austin P is a pretty good team..they are well coached..just (luckily for the Dawgs) out manned. I hate it for Gunner but I think Pugs may be the QB by the second half against the Vols.
This is a young team..Maybe we’re becoming the Gumps with our comments…but it’s early to have to think “wait ’till next year”.
That was hard to watch
Is anyone else hate watching the turds?
You damn skippy I am!
Yes! Let’s go USF. Our strength of schedule has gone to crap so who cares about that anymore!
Clemson isn’t looking any better. Share a little of the hate with those assholes as well.
It might raise your spirits about the Dawg offense
DOWN GO THE TURDS
It makes the day a little brighter.
Alabama aint looking spectacular against UL Monroe either. Not terrible but not impressive.
Oklahoma and Michigan are knocking the hell out each other so far.
I hope to god this is the last season I have to endure a shitty Mike Bobo offense.
I can’t fucking believe we had to deal with it a second time.
I don’t give a fuck about “oh we aren’t showing all our cards.”
Our players are LIGHT YEARS better in every possible way. Faster, stronger, bigger, more talented, better coached (supposedly), better facilities, training, diet, everything.
It was a 48.5 spread for a goddamn reason.
Just pathetic bullshit.
We are wasting ~5 years of our program when our coach is otherwise the best in the nation on his fucking charity nostalgia coaching program that keeps Bobo and Searles on the fucking payroll.
