We likely would’ve had a better opponent playing Buford High School today.
We spread the ball all over, ran the ball, played well across the offensive line, got a few sacks, and held them out of the end zone. Defense was suffocating. The tight ends were involved, and Jaden Reddell looks like the fall camp hype. Montgomery to Bell makes for a compelling argument for QB2.
Might not’ve been the most interesting game in the world, but at least there weren’t any former pros playing in the red and black today, so there’s that.
The heat was also as advertised.

So what does it mean? It means we took care of business, played mostly clean save for a special teams snafu, and didn’t sustain any major injuries.
I’ll take it.
And, just for shits and giggles, Kirby went and beat the spread.
Maybe this year will, in fact, be different.
College football is officially back now that the good guys have gotten game one under their belt. 15 more to go.
Go Dawgs.
I enjoyed the heck out of it. Great job, Dawgs. The title for this post made me think it was about Nate Frazier’s post game interview. What the hell did he say?
He was exicited but heard Kirby in the back of his mind so he was trying to say he still needed to work on getting better.
Probably the best thing that came out of today is that they got to go full speed. They go to hit with abandon AND more importantly, as far as we know, no injuries today.
They didn’t play with their food and took care of business. EVERYONE got to play some today
Next week will still be a tune up, but a much better team than we played today.
We won easily. Generally played clean. Appeared that no one got injured. We got off to a fast start on both sides.
Focus WKU.
Eh, I’m not impressed. We beat 13-1 FSU and national champion runner up TCU by worse scores.

No. No no no no no.
They looked great against Our Sisters of the Poor Directional Academy. I will not get on the hype train. Dammit Bobo.
On the bright side, the DNR did us a solid by starting dove season at daylight, I had a limit, a belly full of what turned out to be the best chicken and beans I’ve ever eaten (h/t to my farmer friend Scott) cleaned up and was in the AC by 3:00 today! Go Dawgs!
Sitting in a dove field, drinking beer, and listening to the dawgs. Brings back memories.
Man, I got all into my feels today…no beer on the field these days, but I was shooting my Grandfather’s Light 12 (1951 baby!) from my favorite spot (Me and Got Sr. used to sit there together and take turns) and limited on less than a box of shells. Sucks to be me some days… just not today.
I saw your /s. 😉
Damn it….I told Derek to leave his shirt & pants on today!!!!!!!
My three take aways:
I think Gunner has truly shortened his motion and gets the ball out much faster than last year.
The D seems to be full of 6’4, 250 lb athletes. They just kept coming.
The TE’s, Holy Damn…..
Bloody hell it was hot in there today.
Y’all need some sort of merit badge
