We have given up just 5 runs in 3 games. Wow.
Which is just crazy when you think back to Mississippi State and Florida and the deficits we had to overcome to win those games.
Not that crazy when you see the strike zone these umpires are giving pitchers for both teams. Batters who want to get a hit are having to swing at some out of the zone pitches that are getting called strikes. At least both teams are getting the calls.
I’ll admit I’m surprised they aren’t using the ABS system.
I would like to know the excuse for not using it.
I believe it was only used in the SEC Championship game. The NCAA is running this show, unfortunately. But like I said as long as it is called the same for both teams, you just have to be the team that makes the adjustments.

I believe we only used 4 pitchers in 3 games. It sucks coming out of the losers bracket (last team to win it all from there was 2018) but at least our arms are fresh.

If you would have told me before the first game in Omaha that the Diamond Dogs would play three games, only give up five runs, and only use four pitchers, I would have said they would be 3-0 and in the final. This is a perfect example of “it’s baseball” and how thin the margins are.
The pitching has been phenomenon and Georgia has managed to find ways to manufacturer runs against Texas. Erase one error or get one key hit against OU and the Dogs would be in the car bird seat.
I don’t know who OU has to start tonight, but let’s go win a slugfest and force a deciding game! Go DOGS! Horns DOWN!

Great pitching or not, it is tough to watch this team seem struggle mightily at the plate. Something here feels unsustainable, great pitching or poor hitting. I’m hoping it’s the latter.
Buy them for what they’re worth and sell them for what they think they’re worth.

For all the talk about the Texas roster being built for Schwab, they didn’t seem to be in the small ball mode as well. A lot of Ks and swinging for the fences.
I thought it was Ryan Clark on the slide to home for the 2nd run. Hellva run and such a pivotal play in that moment. It took the air out of the Horns.
The slide at home was a ballsy call from our 3rd base coach and we just got in there…Phelps’s slide into 2nd where he had to harness the spirit of Brock Bowers’ Matrix was simply amazing.
