As I’m sure you are well aware, Saturday afternoon’s game at what appears to be a broiling 3:00 is streaming only over SEC Network+. Before you complain about this, every school is required to appear once on the streaming service per season.
The bottom line is if your current TV package regardless of provider includes the SEC Network, you should be able to get the game on your smart device (phone or TV) through the ESPN app without paying anything additional.
The basic instructions*:
1) Confirm your TV package includes SECN (most, if not all, providers include access to SECN+ if you have the basic SECN and they aren’t in a fight with Disney over subscription fees). I assume everyone here likely has a TV subscription that includes SECN. If you don’t, you are going to have to subscribe through ESPN, or just listen to Jeff Dantzler, Jon Stinchcomb, and DJ Shockley with your local Georgia Bulldog Radio Network affiliate or through georgiadogs.com.
2) Your cable box may have SECN+ integrated like Xfinity. If so, I believe you are good to go at game time (probably even have DVR capability in this case). You can ignore the rest.
3) Download and/or open the ESPN app on your streaming device or go to espn.com/watch on your computer.
4) Login with your TV provider credentials (choose your provider from the list).
5) Find the game on SECN+.
6) Start at 3 pm, and complain on the game day thread the first time we throw a screen and it goes for minimal yardage especially on 3rd and long.

It’s actually intuitive once you make sure you have the SECN (which I would think you have considering you spend time here). I would definitely test it out early rather than scrambling at game time if you haven’t done it before. In today’s world …

All this is helpful and appreciated and fine and all, & ok once a year at least per school(thank you overlords), but it is frustrating to have to do this when u can look on the guide and see Kansas playing something called LIU Brooklyn and THATS on espnu and it’s not bball, it’s football. Win the sec back to back – streaming for u. It’s just frustrating at least to me. Sorry.
I prefer to look it at as this is what pays for us to get the basketball and baseball games in the winter and spring.
I do understand the frustration about it.
My biggest complaint has been solved. YouTube TV has added the channels to the lineup and we don’t have to watch it through the monstrosity that is the ESPN app.
Eggsackly! I also don’t get why anyone would want to watch on their phone. If you can watch on your phone you should also be able to watch on your TV, even thought it is a hassle. I hope that the YouTubeTV hassle with Disney last year ends up being worth it.
What’s an app?
Another issue is streaming lag. Usually the tv broadcast is far ahead…sometimes up to a minute…from streaming radio over Georgiadogs.com (oddly we do not have a Georgia Network 50,000 watt tower booming the broadcast over the Rockies from the top of Pikes Peak…a pity). Easy to just pause the tv. Streaming tv apps will typically be slower than radio so synching the two up takes some ingenuity.
Understatement, but I really miss listening to Larry Munson. The next best thing is muted volume on any broadcast.

Disney changed my espn+ access, which includes SECN+, without telling me. As far as I can tell, I won’t be able to watch it there, nor on the youtube tv I’m paying for. Ridiculous. And at this point I refuse to give more money to the system college football has become–
However, I will spend money on gas to drive the 85 minutes to the coast to watch it with my Dad, who does happen to have free access to SECN+ right now. Might get a little fishing in, too 🙂

Damn right. This would be the perfect weekend for it. We wouldn’t watch it; we’d sit on the tailgate in the shade enjoying cold beers listening to the broadcast and the die-hards on the field still shooting and sweating.
My YouTubeTV not only has it, but says that it is recording it for me. I bet yours does, also. Still a drive to the coast is a good way to spend a long weekend. Enjoy!
Hopefully you’re right because I doubt this will be the only game on secn+. I do have youtubetv set to record all things UGA, so I’ll know for sure when I get back- or can maybe check from my phone while it’s on. Thanks for the heads up.
