How it started:
How it ended:
The āPeopleās Championā went from āBYU never belongedā to āthe ACC is awfulā as fast as it takes you to toast a Pop Tart in the family toaster. I canāt say Iām sad, but it was the second most entertaining bowl to date (havenāt finished the evening yetā¦for those who think Iām up at 4 am posting, please know WordPress allows you to schedule posts for the next day).
I gotta admit, if King wore Red and Black, I wouldnāt be disappointed. Alas, he Twas a Nerd so FTMF.
Tuck Fech.
Meltdowns on Tech message boards.
Life comes at you fast, nerds. 8-0 and the toast of Atlanta sports media to 9-4 and playing the what if game. As usual, youāre reduced to begging for someone to beat us.
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!
PS – NC State just scored again.
“PS ā NC State just scored again.” With Davis’s Mom AND won the game
A meaningless, boring bowl game between two so-so teams.
And I found myself kind of pulling for the nerds…almost.
Looked like King thought so; I think he was worried about getting an injury in the last game before the pros mull him over. Not sure Key was real happy with him.
On the other hand, the BYU crowd and the announcers seemed to think this amazing feat by BYU proves they are the equal to whoever eventually wins the CFPs.
The only reason I was pulling for Tech was to shut up the BYU and Big 12 faithful and their crowing about getting screwed. They only played one good team all season and they lost to them twice. Go sit in the corner with ND and STFU.
Not only did they lose to Texas Tech twice, but they also got their asses handed to them twice.
I will say in Tech’s defense that not having Faulkner showed last night. Especially the last four plays. I didn’t think they did King any favors with clock management or the play calls after they hit the deep pass to get in the Red Zone.
That had to be some of the most awful clock management I have ever seen. A good HS JV coach would have done a better job. The announcers were absolutely perplexed.
In all seriousness, as much as I respect Coach Key getting buy-in and guys showing up (in the First Half, lol). With coach and transfer turnover, did he really get to build his program with extra bowl practices? Or is this year’s collapse the beginning of Tech being terrible again?
Look at Tech’s roster. It’s senior class heavy and their skill guys are gone. The missed their window.
Jerry and company sum up my feelings perfectly:
What did everyone expect after that cringey pregame speech from Brent Key.
Haynes King finding the wrong teamās player in the end zone to lose a game. If nothing else heās proven he doesnāt need his OC to give a game away.
Good lord what is happening here?! Nothing better than the gnats losing a heartbreaker, Wonderchild chucking an INT to end it and Key dressed like some gym rat and crying. If only the stupid car had crashed and sunk in the ocean. None of this feeling (almost) sorry! That ending was perfect. Tuck Fech!
I’m with you, FPD. Screw their coach, screw their QB, and screw their fans. Several weeks ago on a text thread with friends, one asked what specifically I had against Haynes King, and I replied that he had a GT on his helmet. It’s that simple.
They were dreaming of booger flavored Pop Tarts.
WTF is up with the crying??? Those of us who came of age in the Goff years sure learned losing a college football game wasn’t worth crying about….
Is there a Tech godfather who can slap him around some and tell him to “BE A MAN!”
Rushed home to reply:
FTMF
Tech has reached their ceiling. This is who they are. Theyāll win some games. Theyāll play over their heads against Georgia and make it close sometimes. But Brent Key aint going to defy the laws of nature. Just because he acts tough, scowls a lot, and says āTo hell with Georgia.ā all year long when nobody even mentioned Georgia doesnt change reality. Itās Tech. They have about topped out on what they can do.
Itās Chantastic.
To use some NATS language….
Tech done reverted to the mean. Tech’s mean ain’t UGA’s mean.
If you ain’t fluent in NATS language, Tech is back to it’s loosing ways. Tech’s got issues and Cry’n Key is going to need a lot of tissues!
As always…
GO DAWGS!!
GT beat 9 teams this year. Those teams average win total was 5.1 games.
I rather enjoyed that. Tech blows a double digit lead in the 4th quarter to lose in excruciating fashion. What’s not to love about this?
I thought Key was going to start crying during his interview between the 3rd and 4th quarters. I guess he was too emotional to manage the clock that last drive.
Sumbody get that man a tissue!!
