Arkansas is preparing for Georgia to come to Fayetteville, and they’re hoping the color coordination is going to do something to create a home field advantage for them against the Dawgs. Methinks they’re intentionally making the red stripes the visitors sections to hide a possible Georgia takeover (note: that won’t work).

It seems to me I’ve seen this somewhere before.

Yeah, getting everyone color coordinated isn’t going to make a team suddenly play better than Arkansas did in their lackluster season opener against North Alabama.
Now, maybe I was expecting too much from the first game of the Ryan Silverfield regime, but I did not anticipate the Razorbacks struggling so much offensively.
Three turnovers, too many dropped passes, little to no backside or downfield blocking, and indecisive play from quarterback K.J. Jackson led to a sloppy and frankly scary performance by the offense.
Defensively, the Hogs handled their business fairly well. They smothered North Alabama in the first half, like one would expect.
The second half was a bit more problematic. A slip by a cornerback led to a chunk play and a North Alabama touchdown that was unfortunate, but that can happen anytime a defensive back gets his feet tangled. However, that kind of mistake can prove critical in a closer game.
North Alabama’s other TD was set up by a Sutton Smith fumble. Hog fans haven’t seen Smith fumble like that before, but it was hauntingly familiar to the antics the Razorbacks suffered from during the past two or three seasons.
Arkansas’ defense failed to slam the door on North Alabama in that tough spot or even force a field goal.
In light of those circumstances, I’d give the Hogs a D- grade offensively and a C grade defensively.
The good thing is that while the Razorbacks overall played poorly, they still won.
They likely will not be as lucky the rest of the season.
The bad thing is that if the Hogs had been playing any other team on their schedule last Saturday, their performance would have yielded not only a loss but probably a blowout loss.
Something tells me that Utah is going to expose Arkansas this weekend, and if they don’t, Kirby and Company are going to lay belt to butt and teach the new guy in the SEC a lesson. Lest we forget:
At least we’re not walking into this one with D’wan Mathis as our starting QB. We all remember how that went, right?
Kirby is gonna kick silverfields ass! Just another newby in the sec. They’ll never learn, as the old Southern Maid bacon man used the say. Need that half a hundred! Hope those stones don’t come again. 👍
I’m convinced this is a way to sell more shirts. I’m thinking the percentage of white UGA shirts that people own are less than that of red or black.
Cha-Ching! No sh!t, the bookstore had a whole section of whiteout shirts available last Saturday. My son wanted one, so I of course folded.
I guess I am lucky. At 75 I have never had kidney stone, or if I have had a kidney stone it passed without any discomfort which is just as good as not having one. Maybe I just have a really large urethra – I could always put out a campfire on my own back in the day. Back2Back is right – it is a shirt seller and a way to try and generate some excitement for this meh team. But for us that game is two weeks away. Looking forward to the first look on WKU.
Know them gals loved you, stud hoss!!
I expect a sizeable Georgia contingent to be on hand. I considered taking my bride on a road trip and visiting some family on the way…..but the 1500 mile round trip sort of put me off.
Ill be there! Expecting a rout. Crowd will be minimized by halftime. Woooo….Pig…Sooie….Razorback!!!!!
Arkansas fans: “If you come to the game, we’re gonna stripe our stadium and beat y’all.”
Bulldawg Nation: “If”
I mean my inner Nolan Smith II, watching in helmet and pads, tells me we a 7-5 team. Reckon we know one of thems 7s…
#GoDawgs
The Georgia section will be very obvious about 5 minutes into the second half.
Striping the staduim in Arkansas = lipstick on a pig.
Thanks JP, for not posting that arkie stripe out diagram on micro dot Monday, a little tilt to the left and it all just runs together….GO DAWGS!!
Good one!
You can always tell a tourist or somebody that isn’t gonna’ around very long in Memphis…always thought the standard was some BBQ at the Rendezvous, Beale Street blues and the Peadody duck walk…say hey to Elvis for me….
Kirby will remember the Silverfield comment
Coach don’t worry about Kirby remembering you trashing his team. It’s his team you need to worry about.
Agree with the thought, but believe Kirby pays attention & will make payback
Plastic pig heads still suck! Circa 1968. Chuck Dicus! You got the best of Jake that day! He whipped you in the long run. Super Bowl champs! Gonna get you piney wood rooters at least one more time! Get off yo’ sister! Go Dawgs!!!
I do believe that the shot Mathis took broke him. Not that he was the second coming of John Elway before he got drilled, but damn.
about the 1:50 mark.
Uncalled targeting by the 37 year old Bumper Pool.
I’ve got 4 tickets for the Arky game. Free as long as they go to a Dawg!
What if the Dawg fans show up in black. Really mess up that color scheme.
What I recall from Arkansas 2020 is UGA covered a big spread on the road against a conference team, despite the Mathis start. Not many SEC teams pulled that off that weekend.
Hooray, beer!
