Simple thought for today:
How would you rank Kirby’s starting quarterbacks? For clarity, we’re only including Eason, Fromm, Daniels, Bennett, and Beck.
I think many of us have a clear number one in mind, but what about the rest? What’s your criteria for ranking and why?

Fun fact…at 7-0, Daniels is the only undefeated one of the bunch, but that’s a small sample set to draw from. He finished with close to 1900 yards passing in 10 game appearances with 17 touchdowns and 5 picks, and nearly a 70% completion rate.
Have at it.
SBIV is #1 on the list because of trophies.
Fromm is next on the list.
I would argue Daniels is next because he got hurt. SBIV probably never wins the job if JT doesn’t get injured the 2nd time.
Beck is next because he did play well for much of the 2 years.
Eason is last because of unfulfilled potential.
I would be ok if someone switched Beck and Daniels.
Best? I don’t know how you out anybody other than Stetson there. Of the five he’s probably the least physically gifted. Who would be number one in that department? Eason had a hell of an arm but I don’t remember him being too mobile. That means nothing though because we didn’t see all that much of him and it was years ago so I’m likely remembering it wrong. Was JT more physically gifted than Beck? I’m not sure he was. Did Fromm have an edge on Stetson there? Stetson could move better but was it a wash in terms of arm strength?
Seems like if you ignore what all Stetson accomplished for the purposes of ranking them you’ve got Stetson and Fromm at the bottom and then the other three are almost indistinguishable in terms of physical talent. Was Beck better than JT? Seems like he might have been but we saw a lot less of JT. Who knows?
Respectfully disagree regarding Beck’s athletic ability. He was fast, quick and had a very good arm. He was a walk-on because of his size and played in smaller school class of high school.
Shit. I typed “Beck” when I meant “Bennett.” Sorry
What are we ranking? Ability? Performance? My nfl gm draft board? Is everyone healthy?
Let’s do this.
As a Georgia fan:
1) Stetson
101) whoever.
As a NFL GM:
1) Beck
2) Fields
3) Eh, I think I’m done…
If you want to go by otf performance while at Georgia among starters:
1) Stet
2) Beck
3) Fromm
4) Daniels
If you want to go by season:
1) Stetson 2022
2) Fromm 2017
3) Beck 2023
4) Beck 2024
5) Stet 2021
6) Daniels 2020
7) Fromm 2018
8) Fromm 2019
9) Eason 2016
Drew Bobo’s QBR is off the charts.
If all were 20 years old and available to start this season:
Stet
JT
Beck / Fromm (tied)
Eason
My concern is Gunner doesn’t feel like he’d break into that lineup and at best turn out better than Eason, equal to Fromm. Hell, he could be the second coming of Stetson though…guts and wheels are there, plenty of arm. Could Puglosi be up there with Daniels? Let’s hope so. We need that kind of talent.
I’m ranking solely from the view of a UGA fan:
1. Bennett – Build a damn statue
2. Fromm – Over 8000 yards passing and he’ll always have the Rose Bowl
3. Beck – For all the physical tools, just didn’t have the moxie to rise into the top 2
4. Eason – Huge talent, unlucky with injuries
5. Daniels – Flashes but never really grabbed the QB1 spot
Daniels grabbed the QB1 spot after Bennett’s injury in Jax. Getting hurt twice sucks.
I would leave Eason out because he didn’t really play for Kirby due to getting injured.
Stet (2 Natties, 1 SEC title)
Fromm (SEC Title)
Beck (1/2 SEC Title)
Daniels
Jacob did have one full season under Kirby.
LOL…guess I forgot about that season. I would have him 5th of those five then.
Was that the “throw away” season…GO DAWGS!!
That it was. I tried to tell folks not to expect a lot, but as usual, no one listens…
This is it? This is all we’ve had? WTF?
Stetson is my favorite dawg of all time. The guy had lots of heart, lots of balls, an appreciation of good whiskey, and a very VERY good OC.
That said: We haven’t had a true stud QB since Stafford. If I’m Kirby? I’m in a closed door meeting with my buddy Mike saying “Mike, I love you and we go way back but I need you to find me a fucking quarterback, ‘kay?”
Then have a similar meeting with whoever is recruiting the offensive line.
5/5/25 maybe?
I don’t follow.
5/5/25 is the third anniversary of my Father’s death and Cinco de Mayo, a dangerous combination for my liver. Care to clarify?

Bobo recruited Stafford. If either Stafford or Aaron Murray had SBIV’s defense especially in ‘21, they get it done as well. I don’t say that to discount SBIV.
How much of that was CMR, though? I’m not throwing off on CMB, Monken didn’t draw any either. UGA has not produced an NFL quality QB since Stafford. Bennett hasn’t been there long so maybe and Beck may be a surprise but I don’t see it.
To your point I agree that Stafford or Murray would have won big with Kirby’s defenses.
Stafford? Yes. Murray? No. CMB was the play caller and QB coach by then. Bobo was Qb coach with Stafford.
mailman. full stop.
^^^^^^^^
THIS!!
#1- Bennett
#2- Bennett
#3- Bennett
#4- Bennett
#5- Beck
Completely agree with the first four, think I’d go Fromm with number 5. The Rose Bowl is the difference.
And his first road at Notre Dame
tlkdawg,
You are correct. I was not thinking by the time I got to the last pick.
Also, I am not anonymous.
I am WHB209.
If I say something I want everyone to know I said it.
It’s a results-based business. Nobody better at that than Stetson. At times it was kind of like watching sausage getting made. It wasn’t always pretty to look at, but the finished product was awful tasty.
