I came across this Twix the other day, an interview with Zamir White regarding how he’s adjusting to Vegas and differences between his experiences there compared to his country North Carolina home.
First, I can’t honestly say I remember White doing much talking during his days at UGA. His voice was surprisingly soft spoken and I have to say his demeanor is so personable and friendly it’s hard to believe he’s the same guy that would flatten you on a football field, given the chance. There’s a great article on him from years back on ESPN, icymi.
Aside from seeming like the kind of guy you could easily have a backyard barbecue with, some of his off-season approaches to conditioning reminded me of something, or someone.
Hard to believe Herschel was a bullied, chubby kid growing up. His insane approach to conditioning started back in his early years, in addition to running hills and various cheap and easy ways to get into the shape he needed to be the GOAT.
I think I’ll do a few of those sit ups today that I’ve been putting off for *checks notes* 24 years.
By racing #34 home from the bus stop and beating him, made him a better track guy, better person and a stand alone UGA football representative….GO DAWGS!!
While most Dawg fans think of AD, Stetson, and Brock when reminiscing about the 4th quarter offense of the 2022 NCG, I think of Zeus. He was a freaking battering ram against the Tide on those two last drives. I’m pretty sure Saban was speaking about Zamir when he told Kirby after the game, “you really kicked our ass in the fourth quarter”.
Correction – he only ran on the last drive – the one were Bama KNEW we were going to try to run it. And still got 26 yards on four carries (7/5/7/7)
How do I make that the wake up call on my phone? Can’t wait to get back to Athens to run some hills.
I still think that knee injury held that kid back a whole lot. He was a damn beast before that thing blew in camp prior to his freshman season. He did well, but wasn’t what he could have been had he dodged that.
It would be cool to see Zeus and Brock finally lead the Raiders out of obscurity. That Mahomes kid is a problem tho….
I’ve always wondered if Chubb had influence over White. He surely had to notice how Chubb had the work ethic of a mule and quietly overcame much adversity. Two DGD’s!
I wish Larry was here to call plays with Zamir White. “Zeus is lose!”
Or I guess it would be: “Zeus is loose!”
