Thanks, But I’m Retiring

Well, it’s been (knock on wood) a somewhat quiet fall camp on the injury front, but turns out we’re losing a member of the defensive line, anyway.

Per various reports, McLeod made it known on his social media platform, pictured with a dog, and saying it had nothing to do with coaching, it was just time to retire from football.

Makes you wonder who is pressing him for playing time and why suddenly it was time to hang it up.

  1. Yeah this is weird. Seems like he was probably passed up but who knows? The social media “explanation” feels weird. He quit on South Carolina innthe middle of his freshman season so who knows? If he resurfaces somewhere else we will know what this was really about. Just weird.

  2. I wonder if this could be a “holdout” situation over money. Even if he was passed up, he would still be due his money for the upcoming season. I assume that his quitting takes whatever money had been promised off the table. Who the hell knows anymore?

  3. You never know…sometimes the drive & passion just goes away. Hope he finds his path to success. Just please don’t let this story be about money.
