I admit I haven’t watched a moment of this game. I was on a 2 week business trip, and kick-off was in the middle of the night. I can’t bring my self to watch the mess that was the first half and the total disappointment of the end of the game. Here goes nothing.
Here’s the link to my preview:
Team Stats:

No running game to speak of, a -3 turnover margin, and giving up 8.75 yards per play. We’re lucky that we didn’t get completely blown out in a 90s Florida fashion. The fact that we got up off the mat and had the lead at the end of the game shows how resilient this team was when reasonably healthy. Needless to say, looking back this Alabama team was a shell of its Nick Saban former self, and we had no business losing to them this year.
Individual Stats:

I went back and looked at my preview … I don’t brag often, but I nailed it with my comment “Jalen Milroe is the key to this game.”
These stats for Jalen Milroe are the reason I’m really glad I didn’t watch the game. If Jalen Milroe ends up as a 1st round pick, this game and last year’s SEC championship game will be the reason. Frankly, it’s frustrating to watch a Georgia defense attempt to defend a running quarterback who has some passing talent.
Something to Consider for 2025:
Other than the program’s resilient character that showed up in this game, frankly, I got nothing. The team never gave up. The one thing we know is that Kirby is going to instill the culture he has built into this program into the 2025 team. Most programs would have completely wilted under the barrage of errors and poor play in the first half … we saw that on the other sideline the prior year against Florida State in Miami.
Summary:
I have to admit it. Kirby has an Alabama problem that needs to be remedied in Athens this fall.
We deserve this … to the victor go the spoils:
Enjoy that trip to Nashville next week, Bammers. Humility is always a week away.
Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
4 turnovers, 80 yards rushing. 3-15 3rd down conversions. 41 points scored against our D. That it wasn’t 41- 13 or that we actually could have won are shocking. We need to break them the way we’ve broken Auburn and the gators.
If we don’t go 5-5 on 4th down conversions, we probably do lose that badly or worse. I think you have to take a look at the combined conversion rate that becomes a 8-15 conversion rate when we got to 3rd down.
Living on 4th down conversions is no way to go through life son. But point taken.
Believe me … I’m looking at that as a glass half full Dawg fan.
I watched that game with friends in a garage powered by an engine generator with a cell service extender pushed to a TV on a firestick – 2 days after Helene rocked our world in Augusta and the entire city was dark. Most quit paying attention after the 2nd quarter, but many of us diehards hung in to the last. What a roller coaster of emotions it was, especially after a devastating hurricane that had us all tired and frazzled. Needless to say, it was a big disappointment and I never plan to watch it again.
I live in Augusta as well. I never saw it. I turned the radio off at halftime, disgusted,
Losing to them in Athens this year may just break us. We absolutely can’t allow that to happen.
Beyond Crompton? Et tu Milroe?
Kirby does have a Bama problem. Winning at home is a great way to start the reset.
