Well, scamps, how’re we feeling about this?

Losing (Drew) Bobo in the Tech game hurts. Win, and we avenge our only loss on the year. Lose, and we host a game at Sanford to kick off the CFP.

Could be a win-win, lose-win, or depending on how you look at it, a lose-lose situation.

  3. Is what it is. I said I’d prefer to see the Dawgs in the SEC Championship but I’d prefer it was against a team that they had a chance to beat.

    I’m trying to put it into my belief that there’s no way we beat Bama, because my attitude is usually the opposite when we play them, so that maybe we finally do.

  4. The offense (in particular, the QB) that played Saturday really has no chance. The defense that played Saturday can win every game left on the schedule (yeah, I said it).

    I’ve said all along that, to me, an SEC championship means more than a national championship. Therefore, I’m happy we’re there and can defend our conference championship.

    I thought we would go 11-1 before the season (I had the loss to Texas) and that we would avenge that earlier loss to win the SEC. That’s exactly where we are now.

    This Alabama team doesn’t scare me a bit. That doesn’t mean I’m predicting we handle them, but the Saban physical toughness is gone.

    • Sadly, many physical players remain. Plus, they seem to up their game when they see us.

  6. I think we have gotten better since we played them earlier in the season. The defense especially. Offense is back on the rollercoaster, up-down, up-down. Coaching will be the difference in the game. Will Kirby nut up because it’s Alabama or will he let them play loose and have some fun. I hate Alabama with a passion! All three of my brother’s children are Alabama grads, so I’ll have to hear that obnoxious ROLL TIDE crap if we don’t get-em. GO DAWGS!!

  7. What is Drew Bobo’s status? What’s his injury and is he out for the season?

      • If that’s what it is, he’s done for this season no matter how deep we go in the playoffs. He will be lucky to be ready for the start of next season. This is the same injury that cost Tate Ratledge the ’21 season.

  8. You can’t start beating Alabama regularly until you start beating Alabama regularly. No better time to start than now. There was a time not too long ago when we felt the same way about Florida. Now they feel that way about us again.

    Fact of the day: Georgia is undefeated in rematches against Alabama in the Kirby Smart era.

    (Now that I think about it, we’re undefeated in all rematches, right? I’ve got 2017 Auburn, 2021/22 Alabama, and 2024 Texas).

  9. I would have preferred not to play in the SECCG. We were safely in the CFP without it. Now we have to play a team that’s beat us 10 out of the last 11 times we’ve played. And we may not have our starting center. Our offense looked pretty bad without him.

    • The only way I could be happy about missing the SEC championship is if I believed the team could win the national championship without it. I don’t think that’s the case. I would like to avoid Ohio State for the longest time possible (not because I don’t think we can beat them), and the best way to do that is to be the 2 seed with them as the 1.

  10. How do I feel? Not good TBH. We all know that the SEC zebras and their Birmingham overlords are gonna let those Gump sum bitches hold us all night. Ty Simpson will have a career game. Our offense will play tight. Our defense will look lost. The playoff committee will end up sending us to Indiana or some shit to play in the snow.

  11. I just wish we had Drew Bobo. If we did I think we win.

    I asked Radi Nabulsi about this last night. He said that what he’s being told is Drew broke his foot. I was hoping it wasn’t quite that serious. I asked him if they might move somebody into that spot rather than Tolliver and his answer was it would probably be Michal Morris if they went that route. I would rather try that than more of Tolliver at this point.

I wouldn’t have wanted to risk further injuries against A&M or Ole Miss but IMO Bama is the gold standard and I admittedly kind of sorta question how elite we’ve been if we didn’t have to go through Bama to win. I know this is borderline treasonous, but I can’t help but think it. Once we finally start beating them at least somewhat consistently, I will feel like we’ve truly slayed the dragon. Please don’t hear me wrong though, the system is the system and I will take all the accomplishments we receive gratefully without outwardly questioning them any season they are earned. I’m not putting it up there with winning a natty, but beating Bama will carry us mentally and possibly physically prepared into the future and beyond. Now, if we can just play a little better than Auburn did, not a tall order, we freaking got this!

  13. The Obstacle is the Way. I don’t give a rip roarin’ red-striped rat’s rear end if the Yeller Hammer Pachyderms have beat us a million to nothing a million times in a row. Line it up! Thankfully, unlike fans, many young gentlemen that wear the G, run 4.4’s, blow fools up and take the field will be unafraid. I rather be wrong sayin’ Dawgs by fidy, than right saying we beat already!

  15. The Georgia team that beat Texas beats the Bama team that played last night. I think we could use the extra game and chance for the trophy more than concerns about additional injuries. Most predicted a 2 loss team and playoff appearance at the start of the season, so we’re ahead of schedule. LFG!

    • Playing vs a team we think we can or can not beat isn’t who’s next up, those bammers are next up, that event will be won in the trenches, UGA football will have to scheme with who is available, not to exotic, keep it simple, spread ’em out, bammers will prefer to have #14 beat them with the pass, keeping their front 7 maybe 8 to stop UGA footballs run game is the main objective, time for scanning the horizon for wr’s won’t be there for #14, so the quick hitter’s would seem likely, but not productive, bammers pursuit is fast….feels like a “manball” kind of thing, Special Teams will be up front with field position taking stage early on….GO DAWGS!!

  16. Ground hog day comes early. Between the refs, poor play calling or undisciplined play Georgia will lose a one score game. The ESPN staff will all get in their knees and publicly suck bama off enough to get them a bye in the playoff. As Russ posted earlier – full MUNSON mode.

    Getting a home playoff game will be nice for me, that Saturday is my birthday.

  18. How many starters from the offense will be out this time is my first question. If it’s three freshman on the OLine my inner Munson goes to DEFCON 1.

  19. A healthy offensive line and I’m feeling REALLY good about this game. I think it would be a Texas type outcome. Banged up like we are and my inner Munson is kicking into high gear.

  20. Wish I felt better about another shot at the SEC title, but the injury plague on this team the last two seasons has killed that. I felt the only chance for a natty this season is playing three postseason games. Because it’s Bama and there will be no offensive holding called, looks like we’ll have to win five now with Bobo being out. That’s a serious blow to the OL & it sure showed Friday. Just get through the next game with no more injuries, seems unlikely, and see what happens.

  26. Alright I’ll say it, I don’t think the offense that played Tech will score enough to beat Bama. It was the worst offensive showing of the year to me. NC State and Pitt wiped their butts but we farted around and did only enough to win. I don’t know if Kirkby is play 3D chess and feels he can keep Key around by making them look good or we just have players that DGAS about playing them.

    • Granted, he may not even be playing but players leaving their teams before the season is over pisses me off as much as coaches doing it.

  31. I feel like no matter what the circumstances, somehow we are snakebit against Alabama.

    That said…. I’m going with my usual prediction.

    UGA 70 – Bama 0.
