The Kiffin Kancer seems to have shown up in Oxford. It took a while, but you knew it was going to end badly because that’s what Junior does.

Does anyone believe anything that comes out of his mouth at this point?

He wants the playoff on his coaching resumé. At the same time, he wants a built-in excuse for losing said playoff game. If he decides to take the LSU job, the committee is going to punish Ole Miss in their “rankings” on Tuesday night regardless of the decision. They will end up as the 9 seed on the road to wherever. That’s the Florida State treatment in today’s set-up.

Should the powers that be in Oxford allow him to coach through the playoff?

My opinion is no, but that may be because Pretty Boy Herbstreit and Saban say yes. He’s going to attempt to gut the roster one way or another.

All of this reminds me of the story of the Scorpion and the Frog, and Ole Miss is in the middle of the river with Joey Freshwater on their back.

The best home games I've attended were the 1984 Clemson game (the Butler did it) and the 2013 LSU game (that 4th down is still the loudest single moment I've experienced between the hedges). The game I love to win is against the Handbags (FTMF), and the game I hate to lose is the NATS (Tuck Fech).

  1. Ole Miss was never a “destination” job, especially for Kiffin. It was always a resume building job to get him a bigger & better job at a traditional football power. Congratulations Lane, it worked!

    • I thought he was really going to hold out for the Alabama job when it inevitably goes sideways with DeBoer.

      I think LSU is going to be on the receiving end of this in a few years when he looks to return to Tuscaloosa.

      I think what really gets the blood boiling in Oxford is that it’s LSU. I don’t think there would be the same emotion associated with this if it were Florida.

      • I say he burns up in BR and Tuscaloosa isn’t an option. I just don’t think the guy has the maturity to deal with things at that level.

        I think this move is a mutual mistake. Whoever, whatever is pushing him to Louisiana is making a big mistake.

        He’d be a hero yesterday if he had a press conference saying he was staying. Instead, he will either be the guy that left his team in the lurch, literally or emotionally.

        • I’ve thought from the beginning that he should stay in Oxford because it fit his way of doing things and his personality. Stay there and get a statue (and maybe, an SEC championship or 2). Make more money than you could ever spend either way.

      • I’m with you on that one ee. I really thought he would wait till the bamers ran KD off. Then move on to Tuscaloosa. Apparently there’s still an old guard in the bama power structure saying over my dead body to Kiffin getting the job.

        I totally believe he’ll flame out in BR. Hopefully that’s before he wins any titles.

    • When he saw Deboer wasn’t leaving Bama anytime soon he chose door #2.

  2. Don’t give in & let him coach in the cfp.
    Screw him & the horse he rode in on. The assistant coaches are under contract. Offer them each incentives to finish out the season

  3. The OM administration, the committee, Herbie, Nicky, and the Laner should all fuck off.

    Can’t we for once stop fucking the kids? Didn’t these guys get enough satisfaction out of raping fsu?

    Why can’t everyone just grow a set of balls and say we’ll deal with this when our season is over?

    A roster went 11-1 in the sec, came damn close to 12-0, and they deserve an opportunity to finish a season without these greedy “adults” fucking it all up.

    Egos and greed take over and no one involved can think about the people in the balance. Its gross.

      Tulane may be dealing with the same thing if they are the Go5 representative as Sumrall is likely to be named at Florida or Auburn any day now.

      Derek, I agree with your first statement. It’s really too bad Kiffin didn’t come out and say that he was not going to do anything until Ole Miss’s season was over no matter when that would be.

      As someone who lived in Mississippi for a few years when I was young, I feel bad for the Ole Miss fans who have waited their whole lives for this just to see it crumble in front of them.

      • As someone who lived in MS for nearly 22 years, I don’t feel bad for them at all. They are delusional thinking they have something special in MS. There’s an old joke about “the 2 things you never ask an OM fan”, directions to Omaha or Atlanta (their baseball team ruined that a few years ago). There’s a banner in their stadium that says SEC West Champions (can’t remember the year) so I looked it up. They claim co-champions with LSU that year. Apparently they lost the tie breaker to LSU.

        I’ve never once talked trash to any of them after we beat them but as soon as they finally win one my phone starts going off with that stupid hotty toddy expression.

        Also, someone was filming when Kiffin landed in Oxford when they hired him and some guy said, “Get you a burner.” Not, “Don’t call prostitutes”.

        Lane Kiffin is Mark Richt without the morals. He’ll win some games he shouldn’t and lose some games he shouldn’t.

        I feel about that place like south GA folk feel about FSU.

      • Isn’t Jimmy Sexton pulling the strings here and Lane is just waiting on the highest offer? I don’t think Jimmy wants Lane to speak until he gives the green light. Yes if feee will was in play, Lane could have said I am happy in Oxford, just don’t think those are the dynamics in this situation.

    • All true, but their respective incentives (#1 being greed) are partially being driven by a calendar that puts the signing day before championship games.

  4. Isn’t this about the same path that Kelly followed to LSU? If I recall correctly ND was in contention for a CFP slot and he left for Baton Rouge before the final rankings came out. One can only hope that Joey Freshwater enjoys the same success as BK.

    LSU needs to learn that the stripper doesn’t love them, she’s just another paid whore.

  5. Regardless of how the Joey freshwater soap opera ends I believe ADs and presidents will change how the coaches (assistants and head) contracts are written.

    Perfect scorpion frog analogy for Kiffin. Oxford is a better place than Baton Rouge, his son is now uprooted from high school and not making the playoff will get him fired at LSU. 10-3 in Oxford is statue status.

    • As long as the Voldemort of agents, Jimmy Sexton, is on the other side of the table, ADs and presidents are powerless to stop it. They get the assurances built into the original contract. When the coach does well, all of that drops when they lose negotiating leverage, and you’re left with a Jimbo Fisher or James Franklin buyout.

      • You say ‘Voldemort of agents’ like its a bad thing. If I was a coach, I would hire him. It’s all bidness.

        • He is Voldemort to those he negotiates with. He seems to use the Imperio curse to get his clients’ way.

          In this case, I mean it as a compliment.

  6. LSU must be weighing in. They want him recruiting and on social media ASAP, not still working for OM. Kiffen wanting his cake and eating it too is so on brand why is anyone surprised? OMs best move would be to actually fire him immediately for cause (sexual relations with a minor tiger) and allow the remaining staff to move on with the CFP. In this era of free agency the coaches and kids will be jumping around everywhere anyway. In a bold move, get Eli and Peyton to coach the next game.

    • He won’t be recruiting this class other than electronically or phone because I believe a dead period opens at midnight tonight and goes through January 4. I don’t think he can make any contact with a prospective athlete until all of his compliance stuff is done and he’s an employee of LSU.

      This is all about getting ready for the portal to open on January 2.

      • Yes but he can call those 15 guys in LSU’s class, and maybe even see a few of them by helicopter or private plane, before midnight. That’s part of the push for getting it done this morning. Those 15 guys are getting ambushed right now from 20 other schools.

  7. Let’s not forget these “kids” are being paid tens of thousands if not a million dollars or more a year. These guys are now effectively pro athletes without some of the constraints imposed on NFL players, so let’s stop with “the poor kids” act. Also, how many employers allow an employee to resign and then stick around for a month or two when going to work for a direct competitor? Do you really think Kiffin won’t be focused on recruiting for LSU, building a staff for LSU, poaching players, etc. all while trying to prepare for the CFP? How focused will he and the team be on one vs. the other responsibility? Whatever is gonna happen will happen, so the OM administration should send him packing and start their coaching search. This way they can focus on the CFP without another month of this clown shoq.

    • The professionals don’t allow any of this bullshit. This would be called tampering in the NFL and its against the rules.

      No matter the volume of money, this is amateur hour.

        I don’t really care a whole lot about Kiffin, Ole Miss, or LSU, but I dont care if the kids are getting a little bit of money, this sucks for them.

        Their 11-1 season was special. They nearly beat us and would be 12-0.

        And now they are fucked.

  9. Kiffin’s Krimson Koaching journey is a complete, contrived media creation. Now the World Wide Leader wants to turn on him because it’s over. I like how he’s now being criticised for gettin in the face of some rectal deposit Charlie Sierra that called him a Hoe. If I walked up to one of y’all and called you a Hoe… The ghost of RangerRuss would smile at my knowledge of the taste of the back of your hand. Also, ESPN radio is now clowning him for praying over the decision. Nothing beats devil worshipers in the media lecturing Christians, it’s even trickled down to sports media – SAD. Let Lance be Lance, to be honest the disarray he’s causing strengthens our program. If he goes to LSU? Beautiful we don’t see him unless it’s the SECCG – a game he’s NEVER been in. Lincoln Riley’s Resume is laughing at him. We’re celebrating 10 yrs ago today when the change was made and the historic golden days started. BTW, add the 2016 losses to the stats! Don’t start in 2017, it’s still been beautiful.

If only the transfer portal and the early signing day that are driving most of these coaching hirings and firings during the season were moved until after the national championship game was played, we wouldn’t have all of this drama. Let the season end before allowing players to transfer and sign with schools. Get rid of the early signing day as you still have the February day that no one waits for anymore. Move the date to open the transfer portal until the spring (after the spring football games) so that players can evaluate if they want to stay at their school. There’s no reason for all of this crap to take place before the season is officially over.

    • It makes too much sense, but the schools would say that if they wait until early Feb. to close the portal, the students will miss most of the Spring semester and therefore Spring practice.

      • I hear you but, the idea that school matters to many (most?) of these kids (or the “adults” who are supposed to be coaching and guiding them) is more of a joke than it ever was….

  11. I can’t imagine leaving a place I called home for 5 years knowing that if I or a member of my family return we would need a security detail just to walk the streets. Fans are crazy y’all, and IMO the extra millions and chance at a natty are not worth running into a Harvey Updike that you helped create. He already had golf balls and mustard bottles thrown at him at Kneeland, and apparently that wasn’t enough. Ole Miss fans are gonna be pissed like UT times 100.

    This may not matter, but he may be giving Ole Miss a financial break by giving them reason to fire for cause.
    Finally, you know good and well that Lane Moth****cking Kiffin* is gonna poach his ass off even if Ole Miss lets him coach the playoff game.

  14. I feel bad for the players but Ole Miss has some obnoxious nouveau riche fans that can consume a package of Richards.

  15. What is lost in all of this is simply are we sure Lane is good? Kelly had a hell of a better resume when he took the LSU job. Kiffin ‘s career highlight as a Head Coach was beating Georgia last year. He followed that up by losing to Florida and not making the playoffs.
    This year they are 11-1 but have a schedule that looks a lot like Texas AMs but instead of playing 1 top Seven SEC team they played 2 and went 1-1.
    Both he and Sexton are gonna get paid but i will be shocked if his best days as a Head Coach aren’t already behind him.
