Personally, I’d pass on Lanning…then again, there’s no one on staff I’d personally be warm to taking over for Kirby if he left. Cignetti would be intriguing, but more time at Indiana will prove if 2024 was a fluke or if he’s really got the sauce.

Fran Brown has the personality and fire to continue what Kirby has built…and he would absolutely kill it in recruiting.

Pardon me arguing, but small sample size on Fran Brown. When you come right down to it perfection isn’t out there and you’re not going to know until they get here and get 20-25 games under their belt.
Kirby had zero sample size as a head coach, and I wondered if that was going to be his undoing as a replacement for CMR.

If Monken is going to be a head coach, it’s going to be in the NFL.
Lanning is intriguing and would be on any short list, but he hasn’t really carbon copied his defensive success in Eugene.
Brown would be a great prospect for many reasons including being the first black head coach at Georgia (not going to debate the race angle).
Dell McGee has the same path as Brown and has deep roots as a Georgia high school head coach.
Schumann probably gets a look as a successor for program stability.
I’m guessing at this point in his career, Boom wouldn’t want the job and his prior experience isn’t the best.

I agree. I don’t imagine Potato Head Babushka wanted any part of Coach Brown, who was widely recognized as the strongest man pound for pound on his Georgia teams.

Fran is an interesting gamble.
Beamer is one I’d add to the list. He has done well given the Chicken’s resources. I know some have not liked how he has run his mouth but he does fight for his team.
Lanning would be an option. How bad does that Nike money want him? Is he not getting the defensive talent in the PNW despite that Nike money?

Well, while all this is hypothetical anyway, maybe “Neon Deion”. He played for the Falcons so he’s familiar with the Georgia area. From Fla and played at Fla St. so could also bring in the big time Fla. recruits. He’s done a heck of a job recruiting for even a place like Colorado. Imagine what recruits he could bring in at Ga. Hey, you asked.
He’s actually done a really poor job recruiting high school. I know you may think otherwise because he pulls a few 5 stars every year like JuJu Lewis. He believes he only needs the portal and that has definitely improved their team. I just don’t think that model (a la FSU) is sustainable. I know he’s Prime but he didn’t think it necessary to make one in home recruiting visit. It will be interesting to see if his teams (and his interest in it) crumbles with his kids gone.
He’s been a terrible high school recruiter. Juju Lewis is going there only because everyone seemed to back off him. Lewis found out reclassifying for NIL purposes isn’t the best strategy.
I would prefer to keep it in the Kirby tree, so Lanning, Schumann and whoever does best between Brown and Dell ove me the next 5-7 years until Kirby hangs them up.
