Richt was often times public enemy number one in the old GTP blog to some, with others being Richt apologists. Whole comment sections would flood the page from both camps and became a polarizing topic until his dismissal in 2015.
One thing’s without debate, Richt is a Damn Good Dawg and just an all-around wonderful human being. Here’s one of those pay it forward moments that he got to recall earlier this week.

I’ll never get over us falling short in 2012 in Atlanta. We all deserved see two rare events:
good triumphing over evil
a coach turning a program completely around and inside of 4 seasons
and it was so damn close to happening.
Mark Richt is a great human and will always be a damned good Dawg!
CMR is a DGD. I still think he gets over the natty hump if given the same structure Kirby has (especially the 4 team format).
