Georgia cancels another OOC game, though it’s not one you’d have anticipated.
Georgia football has canceled several high-profile games in the last year as the SEC moves to a nine-game conference schedule starting this season.
It has also scrapped a game against an FCS opponent.
Georgia’s 2028 home game against Florida A&M is off after the schools mutually agreed to cancel the game, according to a Jan. 13 letter obtained by the Athens Banner-Herald this week in an open records request. The letter from Georgia athletic director Josh Brooks to Florida A&M athletic director John Davis detailed the cancellation terms. Brooks and Davis signed it.
Apparently, Thursday was an open records field day for the Athens Banner Herald, but this was one of the news tidbits that came out of it. What would be more intriguing to learn about is why FSU and Georgia agreed to neutral site games and why the series against NC State got cancelled. Not the public language, but the real reason.
I’m surprised we’re not switching the FAMU game to be played at A&M, to be honest. Without reasonable and logical explanations, anything is possible, no?
Why would think the game would be moved to A&M? That does not clear the date and serves no purpose.
I have zero interest in that game or other cupcakes.

I can only summon my give-a-damn if they were contracted to bring the Marching 100 the way Southern was paid to bring the Human Jukebox a decade ago.
