Not Braking News: Mudcat’s Car Strikes Again

Georgia Bulldogs fans might want to give up “expecting to make it through the offseason without a moving violation charge” for Lent. At least as long as the ACC exists in Athens.

Both players were booked on charges of reckless driving and exceeding the maximum speed limit. Additionally, Ikinnagbon was charged with following too closely. All the charges are misdemeanors, but both players were taken into custody and booked late Wednesday night. They each posted bond, Cole for $26 and Ikinnagbon for $39.

Sigh. Or we can give up fast cars for Lent, right?

  1. Saw a report that it was over 100mph. Who knows if that’s accurate but it wouldn’t surprise me. I blame Bobo.

  2. Who cares? They’re employees paid to play football. What they do on their own time is their business. Kirby needs the best players he can get on the field. Suspending anyone or benching players is idiotic. Cutting players is worse.

  3. I made this comment a while back but I’ll post it again: Scholarships should mandate that players can drive only early 1980s diesel Chevettes. Presto. Moving violations concerns eliminated.

    • How many, if any nil agreements have a sentence/paragraph making said agreement null and void concerning any violations of local/state/federal laws….GO DAWGS!!

  4. I have never been booked for a traffic violation. Can someone explain why they are not issued a citation if they have insurance, a valid licence , and no outstanding warrants?

    • You get caught going over a hundred you’re deservedly getting cuffed and sent to jail.

    • I’ve been booked in ACC plenty of times, unfortunately, but that was way back in the 90s. I’d have to say if they received a charge it was likely because they qualified for “super speeder plus” consideration. I’m guessing they were up over three digits on the speedometer.

    • Wasn’t there a law passed in Georgia requiring your arrest if the driver exceeds the speed limit by a preset amount?

At least they had a valid driver’s license and insurance. Instead of weed or firearms. That’s a little progress 😇

  5. I may get in trouble , but it is STUPID! CKS & coaches can’t babysit 100 plus kids or young men. Where is McWhorter Hall when you need it?

  6. “Everyone gets on their moral soapbox. ” I love that comment. I guarantee those on the moral soapbox would be all over X complaining about police overreach if they were arrested for driving too fast.

  7. I can’t remember if it was Dantzler ‘s or Bill Shanks’ show yesterday, but one then jokingly suggested that the NIL deals need to include 300hp caps…lol. It’s much easier to be tempted to race or speed when you drive a Hellcat versus Ford Taurus.

  8. When I visited Athens last Fall it was a bit surprising to see all the APD, ACC and GSP traffic cops all around. I wish we had anything near this much enforcement in Colorado. Texas is tough too. So the bottom line is how can these kids be this truly stupid to speed and race when..as they keep proving…there is a police cruiser behind every pine tree? Don’t fix the cars, NIL or need for speed…fix the gotdam STUPID!!
