Millenial Man?

I honestly didn’t even know this.

I’ll say this, he’s going to need more than one game to do it. More reason to go and win the whole damned thing.

  1. I think a lot of these receiving and rushing yard records are going to get broken in the next couple of years by everyone simply by the sheer amount of games everyone is playing nowadays. Imagine how many yards/attempts Walker or Chubb would have had had they played ~16 games including a playoff run in a single season.

    • Here are all-time UGA RB yfs leaders by season and career. The Goal Line Stalker really does show out. He averaged 160 yfs per game for his career. It’s possible someone may surpass his total all-purpose yards but, in this era of spreading the ball around, I doubt anyone is going to come too close to his per game average.

      Single season leaders
      Herschel Walker – 1981 – 2,067 all-purpose yards
      (1,891 rushing + 84 receiving + 92 return yards) — his scrimmage component (rushing + receiving) is ~1,975 yards
      Garrison Hearst – 1992 – 1,910 all-purpose yards
      (1,547 rushing + 324 receiving + 39 returns) — scrimmage ~1,871 yards.
      Herschel Walker – 1982 – 1,877 all-purpose yards
      (1,752 rushing + 89 receiving + 36 returns) — scrimmage ~1,841 yards.
      Knowshon Moreno – 2008 – 1,822 all-purpose yards
      (1,400 rushing + 392 receiving + some returns) — scrimmage ~1,792 yards. \
      Herschel Walker – 1980 – 1,805 all-purpose yards
      (1,616 rushing + 70 receiving + 119 returns) — scrimmage ~1,686 yards.

      Career leaders
Herschel Walker – ~5,749 scrimmage yards
(5,259 rushing + 243 receiving + 247 kickoff return yards; the kickoff return yards are not counted in pure scrimmage totals, so his scrimmage is roughly ~5,502) — school leader by a wide margin
Nick Chubb – ~5,130 scrimmage yards
      (4,769 rushing + 361 receiving)
Sony Michel – ~4,330 scrimmage yards
(3,638 rushing + 621 receiving + some return yards; scrimmage excludes returns) SicEmDawgs.com
Todd Gurley – ~4,322 scrimmage yards
      (3,285 rushing + 615 receiving + return yards that aren’t scrimmage)
      D’Andre Swift – ~3,551 scrimmage yards
      (2,885 rushing + 666 receiving)

  2. I hope Nate gets to a 1000. The guy has run so hard this year and put his body on the line A LOT this year.

    He is a DGD.

  3. Let’s get him three more wins to go along with his 1000 yard season. Go Dawgs!

    • Good call. I had to look it up. It was in fact D’Andre Swift in 2019 with 1,218 yards. Swift and Holyfield in 2018. Chubb did it in 2014, 2016 and 2017. Sony did it in 2015 and 2017. Gurley did it in 2012. And then you have to go back to Knowshon in 2007 and 2008.

Thinking about it, it’s somewhat difficult to believe that we had at least one back do it each season from 2014 to 2019 and then none after that. Especially considering that we played 15 games in the 2021 and 2022 seasons and 14 in 2023 and 2024.
