Things aren’t going well over in west Alabama.

I mean, pre-Saban was actually pretty good for Alabama, because I think they had a decent coach at one time or something. I can’t be sure, but I think he’s the reason for certain fan wear choices in Tuscaloosa…

And Saban’s first year was a 7-6 campaign. While I can agree they’ve taken a step back since Saban left, I’d argue they’ve been taking small steps down ever since Kirby left, especially on the defensive side of the ball when his recruiting depth left the program a few years afterwards.

Aside from that, if the program in Tuscaloosa is about to go down in flames, I’d buy a front row seat and some popcorn just to enjoy the fall of Rome.

  1. The entitlement runs very deep. The standard is National Championship or the season is a disappointment. I’m here to enjoy the years the failure.

  3. Bammers have selective memory. They conveniently forget about Mike DuBose. Bill Curry, Francione, and others where they were not that good! To hear them tell it , they been winning nattys every year. They never had any bad years. If they can read, they need to check the facts( real facts). Maybe a book or two will have some pictures!!

  4. Bammers believe national championships are their birthright and SEC championships are their entitlement. Saban knew what NIL combined with the transfer portal would eventually do to his program, so he wisely got out while the gettin’ was good. He could raise money for buildings, weight rooms and recruiting because people knew that lasts.

    Giving to an NIL collective is like taking a wad of $100 bills and setting them on fire. There will never be enough money to satisfy that. Cody Campbell, the other Texas oil barons and John Ruiz at Miami are rich and desperate enough for a championship to light those on fire. I guess it’s unfortunate for Auburn that Tim Cook doesn’t feel similarly.

    • I am not well read in the NIL world of crookery, but I believe there will be a future cap to the dumbfukery that is afoot in that world.
