MBG update – Go touch some grass edition

Corn Dogs gonna Corn Dog. Although the flip side with Ole Miss wouldn’t surprise me, I’m sure the athletic association is letting frat boys run wild in Vaught-Hemingway. If I were at Ole Miss frat boys, I would be chasing some Ole Miss sorority girls instead.

Another meteor game on the horizon this Saturday.

I've been a Dawg my entire life. UGA was always my dream school where I received 2 Terry College degrees and met my DGD wife. I've been a season ticket holder for over 30 years and love the in-stadium experience over anything from Section HD. My first game in Sanford Stadium was the 1981 Auburn game where we clinched the SEC championship. The best game I've attended in person was the Midnight Miss against Ohio State (nite, nite!). The best home games I've attended were the 1984 Clemson game (the Butler did it) and the 2013 LSU game (that 4th down is still the loudest single moment I've experienced between the hedges). The game I love to win is against the Handbags (FTMF), and the game I hate to lose is the NATS (Tuck Fech).

  1. I can’t stand Freshwater but I hope he hangs a sixty burger on Pete Golding. You have to really be a piece of work to make me root for Joey Freshwater’s but that grease ball Golding has managed it.

    • I can’t stand either one of them, and the way both fan bases have played the victim in the last 10 months makes me want to puke.

      Ready for the meltdown.

    • Ain’t no way I’m pulling for Joey Freshwater over Widespread Pete, as much as I loathe both of them. But, yeah, there may be a large margin of defeat for the rebel bears.

  2. Is there a section on mygolfspy.com where they rate the best golf ball for stadium-chuckin? Yeah, everyone likes the ProV1, but they’re expensive, plus the high compression and spin factors could work against you from Row 54 in the student section. Look for a better value, as you’re not getting that ball back. Maybe try the Vice Pro – seems fitting for the situation.

    • When I lived in Miami, there was a store that sold used golf balls that were fished out of the water hazards (Shelly’s Used Golf Balls, 50 NW 167th St, Miami, FL 33169). They had them sorted on bins by brand and quality. There were “hit only once” Titleist balata balls (several dollars each) that the rich tourist thought they had to have to the stolen range balls ($0.25) that the hackers used when they got to water.
I suspect most large metro areas have a place like that. The used range balls are what they need to be chunckin’ if they are going to be doing that. Lane is not worth a new high-end golf ball.

      • Reconditioned ProV1s are a great buy to take to a course you haven’t played and has a lot of H2O. Good performance and not a lot of money out of pocket.

        • It’s been so long since I played, a handful of balls from the putt-putt course would work as well for me. Putting a ProV1 on a tee for me would be an insult to the golfing world.

  3. Let Kiffin’s Kajun Kittens give us some good game tape for our trip to the Grove and then the SECCG – if they make it…

  4. This game has the same feel as last weekend’s Hillbillies vs NATS game. The thought of either one of them winning is repulsive. The thought of either one of them losing makes you giddy. Serious inner conflict happening with those games.
