Something tells me if this is a trend in South Florida, there’ll be a few more folks hitting portal to Miami someday.

I’m guessing this is the same strategy that Jimmy Sexton uses every time a coach hits a hot streak and rumors swirl about NFL offers. The agency is probably rolling this out there to compel other schools to offer more money to clients to boost their commission.
On that note, there’s this:

It’s amazing that the same organization that would suspend an athlete multiple games for four figures from jersey autographs is now sitting idly by and allowing an unfettered free agency market run wild…and the athletes, while compensated far better than their predecessors, are being fleeced by unlicensed agents.
And to think, this makes Cam Newton’s one year contract at Auburn look like chump change in comparison.
Pretty sickening. The Senator had a foresight, did he not. Somebody needs to grow some balls and fix this. I just hope it’s not too late.
I kinda feel like the Senator poo pooed some of us as fear mongers to suggest it would devolve into exactly what it has become. Hate to say that as he’s not here to set me straight, but that’s my memory.
You are correct sir.
The “barner bagman” does not condone your use of “chump change”….#AUBURN SUCKS!!
How dare you cast aspersions on the Right Reverend Cecil Newton’s desire to secure funds so he could build a glorious cathedral in praise of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I mean, I’m sure it’s glorious, right? He did build it, righ….wait, what?
Never heard of any of those 3 talking heads until this post. Who wears a Padres hat to a cfb discussion?
This years CFP trophy cost $20 million. Looks like Miami is ready to up the number.

On the one hand, I agree wholeheartedly. Huge ball drop for letting this go unregulated but hopeful that new guardrails reel this back in next season.
On the other hand, the cynic in my bets that there was some discussion along the way, behind closed NCAA doors, where they said FU to the schools… The school defense playbook became deny deny deny and never produce any evidence after the NCAA started cranking up the machine to go after a school.
Stated it before…CFB is over the cliff in free fall and just a question now of how hard the landing is going to be.
