I’ve heard enough about how great a facility it is. And thank God for ESPN+, so I could watch it all. Ma, I broke the curse! I watched three straight games we all won. I looked out the window, and dogs and cats were mating, ET went home, and, somehow, Bigfoot was drinking coffee on our back porch. That’s rare air.
In other news, it was another game where Ichikawa got pulled early, and it looks like Kenny needs some bullpen work or maybe needs to be the midweek starter until he gets his swag back. He’s not a bad baseball player, but he’s struggling since getting dinged earlier in the season and our bullpen is ridiculous. It turned into a bullpen game without the intention to do so, and Wes is proving his worth as a pitching evaluator this season.
It was number 5 versus number 4, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re in the top three when the latest polls are released.
Volchko and Vigue did well this series which is what likely got us the sweep. Byrd got roughed up Thursday, but the pen didn’t have to throw many innings in the first two games which allowed them to come back and all be used again on Saturday to win Game 3.
I’m guessing Ishikawa wouldn’t have started yesterday if the series had been tied. Wes was able to let him go and see if he was getting right since the Dogs had the luxury of already having won the series.
I still worry about this team when the bats go cold against a team with good pitching over a May or June weekend.
Eh..if you like to worry about stuff baseball is your sport. I doubt if any baseball team anywhere on any level didn’t go through an slump once in a while over the course of a season. UGA baseball is kind of fun right now and the radio broadcasts are fun, too.
I’m enjoying seeing this right now. My point is that the bats have gone cold at the wrong time over the last few years.
Very impressive sweep. These dawgs seem more focused on the results rather than the ride.
Great pitching usually beats great hitting. Even more important stay healthy and get hot when needed wins championships.
Watching good BB at Foley is a lot of fun.
^^^When they win a few games at the SEC tournament or get to a super regional my inner Munson will start to believe.
They hosted a Super in Year 1 under Wes.
Someone must have pulled Wes in and talked to him about how baseball players should represent. Not the all about me flamboyant team I watched last year. Must have been Kirb’s, cause this team is what Kirby would call resilient.
We were noticing the same. Not as much bravado but solid professional play. Refreshing.
Starvegas???
Nah,
Starknam!!
