  1. Handbags will say nothing that happened before 1990 or after 2010 counts.

Auburn has traditionally been a better program than Florida as well. The problem was they had to play Bama and Georgia every year after 1992 (before that they played Florida every year, too).

That’s pretty powerful stuff for where this program has been since 2001.

FSU, Kirby broke you in Miami.

    • After Mickey witnessed how UGA football treated meeshigun, the bammers, tcu, free shoes and their precious tosu on national TV the past couple of years, that i$n’t the programming the wwl want$ to $chedule….GO DAWGS!!

    • The “barner bagman” do luv him some shit on the bottom of your shoe barner hc…#AUBURN SUCKS!!

    • For real. Saw some dumbass on reddit (redundant, I know) moaning about Kirby and how we were about to return to “the dark days of Richt.” Screw those idiots.

We are incredibly lucky to go from Richt to Kirby. That rarely if ever happens.

  2. If UGA hadn’t hired Richt after the Donnan/Goof debacles, the program would be nowhere near where it is now. Richt righted a flailing program that was ultimately passed to Kirby who took it to the promised land. I shudder to think where we’d be if Richt hadn’t been hired when he was. These are the golden days, gents (and ladies). Soak it up.

    • Even Donnan advanced the program. Heard him say before that when he got to Athens, there was only 1 phone that had to be shared by all the coaches during recruiting. It took him 6 months to get enough phones so everybody could talk to recruits at the same time. When you think about the resource deficit he and Richt had to work with, it sheds a different light on their tenures.

  3. It has been an incredible time to be a Dawg fan. I graduated in 89 so most of the first decade plus of my fandom was a pretty rocky ride. I certainly remember thinking a 3 loss season wasn’t really that bad. Damn how this run has changed my perspective on that.

I’ve said this before on other threads; my kids both went to UGA and are in their late 20’s now. All they know is this era. I’ve told them so many times that they are witnessing the golden age of Georgia football. I hope they truly get what I’m telling them.

    • Same here. I still remember us missing a chance to win the SEC in 1988 on a cold Saturday in Lexington when Alfred Rawls had the game of his life. Rawls was offered by UGA but could not academically qualify and went to a JC before UK. A 10-6 loss and another 9-3 season for the Dawgs.
