I don’t like this one bit

I say this as a Million Miler.

I understand it, but I really don’t like it. I know everyone else is doing it.

As Lewis would say, Elvis is dead, and I don’t feel so good myself.

What’s your thought on this development?

About eethomaswfnc

I've been a Dawg my entire life. UGA was always my dream school where I received 2 Terry College degrees and met my DGD wife. I've been a season ticket holder for over 30 years and love the in-stadium experience over anything from Section HD. My first game in Sanford Stadium was the 1981 Auburn game where we clinched the SEC championship. The best game I've attended in person was the Midnight Miss against Ohio State (nite, nite!). The best home games I've attended were the 1984 Clemson game (the Butler did it) and the 2013 LSU game (that 4th down is still the loudest single moment I've experienced between the hedges). The game I love to win is against the Handbags (FTMF), and the game I hate to lose is the NATS (Tuck Fech).

  1. I don’t like it either but it is better than hearing Scott Howard scream ‘it’s a Delta Airline touchdown pass.”

  2. Normally, I’d post some crazy anti-corporate rant like: “Delta – the CTE flies you for free!,” but I won’t. Sadly, the money grab speaks for itself without my garbage commentary.

  3. Oh, just wait. Today it’s the logo on the field, tomorrow it’s on the jersey, next year it will be on the back of the helmet right next to the SEC logo.

  4. Honestly, I would rather Delta pay for the arms race by slapping a logo on the field than the fans be squeezed any more. There is no more blood in the fan turnip, so they have to go elsewhere. The sport we loved died years ago.

    • As Aladawg said, this is just another source. Delta’s logo ends up on TV as well.

Maybe they’re using this to delay a contribution minimum and ticket price increase, but I don’t think so. These logos are pure profit to the UGAAA. It costs probably $200 (at most) to put the logos down all in.

  5. It sucks and is inevitable, but if you think this will slow the assault on loyal ticket buying fans you are sadly mistaken……….

  6. Once it becomes just a little about the money, it becomes almost impossible to keep it from becoming all about the money – its simply a matter of how long the slide down the slippery slope takes….
In reading some articles earlier today, I was thinking, what the hell would my grandfather think if I told him a college athletic conferences was thinking about taking money from Wall Street investors, or college football GMs (!) were flying to meet with the al Sauds to try and raise money….

  7. I’m surprised there aren’t digital logo’s that you can only see on tv (like the first down yellow lines). I’m not a big soccer fan, but I feel like that’s already happening.

    • I live in an NHL market.

When the local team plays road games, the ads on the boards are for local businesses.

      The technology definitely exists.

    • Should this logo helps UGA football git into the endzone sooner/faster/more often, i’m good with it, if this logo ends up with UGA football standing around in line waiting their next turn to git into the endzone, having to place their seat into the upright position, obeying the no smoking sign……oh, wait….GO DAWGS!!

  8. Shame our only hope is a salary/NIL cap. They don’t care. The modern athletic department is prostitution.

  9. I’d prefer if it were closer to the sideline on the other side of the numbers.
