Some clarity arrived during this week’s Media Days:
From the article:
“Will’s still going to be with us and helping us in some capacity,” Smart said, “I guess Leland (Barrow) left him off the media guide. Y’all gonna have to take that up with him.”
With his son entering his freshman year as a quarterback at Vanderbilt last season, Muschamp took on a tapered role with the Bulldogs. The former Florida and South Carolina head coach was present during the week in Athens, but did not roam the sidelines on Saturdays. Muschamp was often in attendance for Vanderbilt games last year.
Amidst rumors of Coach Saban’s eventual return to the coaching scene, Smart poked fun at reporters.
“Considering y’all reported erroneously that Will was leaving, I was going to fill you in that Nick was taking his spot,” Smart said, “That’s not happening. I don’t think Nick’s coming back. I think he’s too happy where he is.”
Rumors (sic) was a great album, and apparently a better off-season talking point to drive up engagement.
Kirby isn’t going to let go of his Roman Bulldog spécial agent of Fire, Passion, Energy… just ask your local locker room whiteboard!
Too bad wasn’t Muschamp delivering the news with a BMF I’M back in the Red & Black.
