Hate, in the Key of G

Brent Key has a feels:

To his credit, Key has been able to establish a little relevancy to a program that was essentially run into the ground by a deadly one-two combination: Paul Johnson’s lack of desire to recruit and Geoff Collins’ inability to put his phone down long enough from coming up with yet another marketing theme to coach competent football.

While I understand that it’s vital to make statements such as this to rally a tired fan base or to motivate your team, one has to question the wisdom of giving Smart yet another locker room quote to keep the Dawgs dialed in. Recall that after the 2023 tilt, Javon Bullard essentially said that the Dawgs had taken Tech too lightly and that Tech was a tough W before the SECCG.

The false positive Tech gained from a competitive effort against a banged up Bulldog team has reignited an optimistic fan base. Overlooking the miracle in Miami and a surprise victory over a UNC team that actively did everything they could to help Tech win, there’s a good deal of buzzing from the North Avenue Trade School.

Most outlets are giving Tech 5 to 6 wins this year, which doesn’t necessarily resonate with confidence to back the bravado. Not sure if Key thought this one through enough. As they say:

Nerds.

  1. Key will gain nothing but an ass whipping for this. Former players say Kirby hates Tech more than any team Georgia plays. Way to outsmart yourself, Brent.

      • Oh he doesn’t like them. It from what the players say it’s Tech that he hates most. I’ve heard that he despises Shane Beamer too which is weird to me.

        • Kirby peeling the paint … Attack the Day (p 183):

”Georgia got off the mat the next week by beating Kentucky at home. … The players went into the locker room, and Smart got to the center of the room … and yelled out: ‘I want everybody to take a knee! I want everybody silent!’

”… Instead, the first thing out of his mouth was: ‘You guys are going to hate next week! But you don’t blame me! You blame those mother [expletive] over on North Avenue. … I hate them! I hate them! And you hate them!’”

      • Same, Smart could have run the score up against GT in recent years.

Whatever the case, this confirms comments I made recently, GT is consumed with hating UGA. I think they hate UGA more than they like their school. I hate the Crocs but still love UGA more.

    • Mr. Cooley,

Kirby hates Tech, but I think Coach Smart has a special kind of hate you can only have those Gator turds, FTMF, all of them.

  2. im sure no one in Athens noticed Key running his mouth, he’s trying to be like his mentor, the Skipper: bragging and annoying. GTU fans love irrational shit talking, so fine.

all he’s doing is ensuring they will get full focus. Brilliant work. FTMF.

  3. As I said elsewhere, good! Let the hate flow through him! We will break him just like all the others.

  4. Kirby to Key:

Ah you think shit-talking is your ally? You merely adopted this smack. I was born in it, molded by it.

    Also FTMF!

  5. I am taking my 7 year old for our first trip to Bobby Dodd to see Tech play and hopefully lose to Ga State in Dell’s debut.

  6. My old grandfather used to say never piss on an electric fence. Brent has done it now, LMAO.

    • Having seen his feelings expressed in front of whom ever was willing to listen yesterday, 1st thought was (yes, i read it twice), “can’t believe he actually said it out loud”, that’s o.k., shit happens, emotions of the heart will do that, there exist two things you don’t do in life, “tug on Supermans cape”, mess with WonderWoman during “that time of the month”, do not “spit into the wind”, and if you are a bug, watch out for any and all wind shields with a “G” attached, “splat” will be the next feeling the north avenue fucking trade will find in those words of wisdom come November 29 2024…have been looking at a road trip, this blind mofo may have just found my location for me….GO DAWGS!!

  7. I’m glad to see the NERDS have a little piss and vinegar in them. It makes it more fun to beat them when they actually think they have a chance. I’ve always wanted them to be just relevant enough to not hurt our strength of schedule. Anything beyond they and they get too mouthy thinking they’re more than just another speed bump
