Yeah, instead of awesome new home game we haven’t seen before, let’s all head up to Kid Rock’s bar and go watch a game played between two teams that had to travel father away than necessary to play a game in Tennessee.
If they thought bowl games were becoming irrelevant, maybe the OOC matchup played at a neutral site needs to become irrelevant. Unless it’s a rivalry (and to be honest, I couldn’t care at all about Jacksonville) why the hell did these ever get started anyway?

Yes, but the game in Jacksonville is different. These games were announced as part of a season ticket holder’s future package.
I would be saying the same thing if the 2026-27 Cocktail Parties were originally announced to be coming to campus and now were moving to Atlanta and Tampa.

I’ve said it before. I had no problem with Clemson neutral site games. Those were announced years in advance, and they announced on campus games to go along with them. Now they are going back on that promise as well.
It’s to reward all the fans in North Georgia and Southern Tennessee who normally can’t make the long drive to Athens and helps with recruiting in Tennessee.

Pass, I’ve wanted this home and home for decades and was looking to get tickets. I have family in Tallahassee as well. The WLOCP is a great tradition but any other Border Wars (Clempson) should be home and home.

I’m 20 minutes from Tallahassee, abd have really been wanting to see the Dawgs plays in Doak since these games were announced. But the more I thought about it, I don’t know that I’d want to have to listen to that damn war chant for 4 straight hours lol.
If you don’t want these games that were supposed to be played on campus to move to neutral sites, do 1 (or all 3 ) of these things:
1) Don’t buy the tickets. The payout to the teams comes from the proceeds from the ticket sales. The PSL holders who are selling their tickets on the secondary market get hammered. I don’t think Nashville (or other cities) are going to make these commitments just to see empty seats and concession areas where food and drink aren’t flowing.
2) If you have to go to the game, don’t stay in Nashville for the weekend (or stay in someone’s AirBnB or VRBO). Leave those hotel rooms empty and the bars and restaurants wondering where the people are. They’ll let the local government know their lack of business.
3) If you don’t go to the game, let the schools know you’re not happy with this by turning the TV off. If the ADs see lousy TV ratings that don’t look right, they’ll get the message.
It’s time for the people who see us as wallets to empty and eyeballs to exploit to learn a valuable lesson in economics. The comments from UGA representatives that say they have to do what’s best for UGA athletics over what’s popular with their customers should piss off every one of us who have clients or customers to serve.

This season is 51 years with same seats. It will be my last. Not all money, but about where this is all headed. Just not my “thing” to go to every game. Time has taken its toll and l am there. I love them Dawgs, but not up to all this BS . Love’em forever, l have had some of my best days with them. Appreciate all ya’ll and love all you Refugees! Go Dawgs!!

I don’t know, they make so much off carrier fees do you think commercial ad revenue isn’t just a loss leader for them? They let the WNBA limp along for decades for no reason. Everybody is used to CFB being on TV so do the ratings even matter? I mean it makes for a good press release but I don’t see the WWL letting the foot off the throat of CFB. (Full disclosure: maybe this just my cynicism clouding things).
ESPN has nothing to do with this game moving to Nashville or wherever (therefore, I don’t give a rat’s ass about them). Poor ratings maybe even get ESPN to say to these guys, “Are you sure you want to do this? Here’s what the data says about the audience (which drives ad rates).” People inside B-M like to poke out their chests and point to individual game ratings as a rationale for the value of the brand.
Unless you know something specific I would not dismiss the tv business analyst kids at Disney HQ having input into this “expanding the brand” decision.
ESPN has nothing at stake on the location of the game. People aren’t going to tune in because the game is in Nashville vs. Athens or Tallahassee.
The schools bid this thing out.
At least we get to visit a city where the Dawgs haven’t played very regularly historically.

I am wondering if they’ll designate FSU as the home team and they’ll tell ESPN the game is outside the ACC media rights agreement because it’s being played in Tennessee. Then, the schools sell the media rights separately.

Maybe it’s just the bad taste from the CWS, but I reaaaaaalllly don’t have any enthusiasm for this upcoming CFB season. The sport I grew up loving is just about done for.
The sport we all grew up loving and the concept of the romanticism of amateurism are over.
The question is whether college sports can weather the oncoming storm after the full transition to professionalism.
The powers that be are banking on college football and (men’s) basketball as being inelastic in demand. No matter what they do to pricing or features of the product the demand for the product will still be there. They need to ask NASCAR how that assumption has worked out for them.
On the bright side, replacing every other row with a drink rail at Sanford they way they have at AMS to be able to announce “sellouts” would be pretty awesome if you still went. Those seats aren’t exactly spacious right now.
And they met yesterday to discuss playoff expansion but couldn’t consider a proposal because they don’t have the additional tv money revenue projections yet. If that doesn’t sum up CFB leadership nothing does.
Given the state of FSU football, their inability to travel well, the location, I could see this being a typical Vandy ticket cost. While not good for the normal fan, it does lower the cost of attendance — which in theory is needed for younger fans to embrace College Football Next. I didn’t go to the 2023 Capital Bowl but it wasn’t a sell out and the 2003 Sugar Bowl, tickets prior to game time were going for $30 or less.
FSU fans didn’t go to the 2003 Sugar Bowl because their fans had become natty or bust by that time. They didn’t go to Miami in 2024 because they felt they had been jobbed by the committee by being left out of the playoff after being an undefeated conference champion.
Maybe they won’t buy the tickets because it’s 2 states away from their fan base and they want Mike Norvell out yesterday.
This won’t be a cheap ticket either or the primary or secondary markets.

Nick Saban used the game in Atlanta as a way to showcase his program in a recruiting hotbed and the money that came from the OOC game helped subsidize his facilities war chest.
In the Saban years, Bama used the revenues from their neutral site games to subsidize their NIL program…

I always thought we played a neutral site game every other year in Nashville at Dudley Field (now First Bank Stadium).
I will not be attending an out of state neutral site game. Ridiculous in my humble opinion.
