Gameday Post – WABAC Edition

Been a while since I put one of these out there, so a quick reminder – I try to tease this out a little bit without getting into specifics like names, scores, and dates, and you guys can take a stab to see if you can guess the game. This week’s WABAC Observations will feature a guest contribution from one of our Refugees, so this is a lead-in to their story and recollection of the sum events of the game.

Where are we going this week, Mr. Peabody? Sherman, this week we’re headed to pain. Sweet, sweet pain.

Let’s face it, we should be looking ahead to something bigger next week, but we’re not. Two inexplicable losses this year and a surprise win by our fellow eastern conference foe – no, not that one…not that one…yeah, THAT one (shocker), and we’re looking at this game as being the one for all the marbles. Problem is, there’s not marbles to be had and this game is likely a bigger deal for the opposition than it is for us, and that’s always a big, big issue in a game like today.

On paper, we should beat these guys like a redheaded stepchild, but we should’ve done that this year in our two other losses so I’m skeptical about our chances heading in to today’s game. We have an emerging star running back that has rushed for seven consecutive 100 yard games, but we lost one of our games by effectively taking the ball out of our best rusher’s hands on the goal line (four times) and then got boat-raced by another team that attempted 6 passes, completed 3 for 27 total yards, and we still lost by two touchdowns. That bodes well for this team’s run-happy philosophy, and I’m skeptical that our staff will have our team mentally ready for today’s game.

Given that we’re locked out of next week’s game with another loaded and talented team, all I can think to say is this: I don’t want to talk about it. Let’s hope today’s contest doesn’t give us more reason to grab the pitchforks and torches and march towards Butts-Mehre at game’s end.

  1. Fucking Harrison Butker….

The last play led our OC to get as far away from his starting qb as was geographically possible.

  2. These Way Back posts would be great if I wasn’t so old and can’t remember sh*t. LOL

  3. I hate seeing Georgia lose. But to lose to those jackasses is intolerable.

    • That was my first thought as well, but Derek’s comment matches better with 2016.

      • Pretty sure Butker’s kick was 2014, and no one was running to Butts-Mehre with pitchforks in Kirby’s first year.
