Derek is a bit of a mystery to me. Maybe Barbara babied him too much. Why go to Virginia while his dad is at Georgia? Why take a HC job before you’re ready?
Why go directly for a US Senate seat if you’re interested in politics?
Run for the state house/senate. Build a support system.
It seems like he’s tried to get out of his dad’s shadow while also expecting the name to take him places.
Not how it works. I say, get within the shadow, show value, reap rewards.
Seems the table was set for him and he tipped it over again and again.
The problem is the shadow is gone – Vince isn’t around to call in favors for him anymore, and I imagine when Barbara calls, most folks just let it to straight to VM…..
Of course, but he had near 40 years to build within it and make his own shadow. Just seems like he felt entitled to squander it.

It’s always sweet to be a Dawg, but for the last few years it’s been even sweeter to handle our rivals this way. Just beat everyone that wears urnge and I’m as happy as a sissy in a dick factory.
