  1. It’s not college football anymore. It’s entertainment to maximize revenue. Once you get that concept it all makes sense.

    • The UGAAA is covering every square inch possible with tailgating tents. They were putting them on the Coca-Cola Commons at Terry on Thursday night when I was there.

Not a dime of that money goes to the business school for use of the space after UGA Coke employees raised the money to build and name that area.

  2. Yes, that’s new. I guess that means CFA won’t be the jersey sponsor (if we have one). Are they going to bring out nuggets and waffle fries when the starters are sitting in the 2nd half?

  3. Since the dawn of the 24 hour news/entertainment age in the 1990’s, the American public and sports entertainment consumer has watched and contributed to the rise of professionalization of the sports at every level from youth sports to high school to each level of collegiate athletics.

Ironically it is IOC and FIFA (perhaps the two most corrupt sports organizations on earth) that still promote the clean venue. That will end for the IOC with the 2028 Olympics in LA which will not sanitize the name of some the venues with existing naming rights deals.

Its part of the game, as far as we know it doesn’t directly influence the results, and its never going to go back.

    • Thanks for posting that. He is 100% correct. IMO that pretty much ends the discussion. Now it’s a matter of how best to execute it.
