Seems like the permanent opponents for future SEC scheduling has dropped.

Cannon shot. What do you think…who got it easy, did anyone get screwed?

  1. Arkansas got a tough draw.

    The gators and tennessee caught breaks.

    Really hate drawing South Carolina…. I hope they set that up late in the season.

    Overall it looks like they did a good job to me.

    • Arkansas needs to recriot Mizzou and Texas to win. IMO they came out ok.

      Just curious about the contract for Ark vs aTm in the Jerry Dome.

      It’ll be interesting to see full schedules and the rotation, who has to go on more tough road games, etc.

  2. This is great. Now I don’t have to watch ESPN drag out 5 minutes of content over an hour long show. (I wouldn’t have watched the entire show, regardless.)

  3. No surprises, other than putting Florida, SCar and Kentucky in a “pod” and not making one or two of them draw a western team….
    It will be nice to have 4 league home games every year, but still wish we could find a way to get Auburn and Tech off-schedule again.

    Maybe they switch out one of Oklahoma/Arkansas/LSU with MissState or Kentucky if they need to adjust some things for others, pretty sure you can chisel @A&M in stone for all you guys who have been dying to go out there….

  4. I fail to see the respect for “history” or “tradition” from the SEC’s main office in pairing Auburn with Vanderbilt. Probably they anticipated an outbreak of caterwauling from the SEC’s whiniest fan base if they had tried to revive Auburn vs Florida. Our pairings with UF, AU, and the Poultry are about what I expected. Elsewhere, they give Alabama the Bizarro Dogs of the West in place of LSU, who is matched with Arkansas instead of the Tide. But this all gets revisited in 4 years. Although I’ve long despised the SEC’s main office for a number of reasons, the four-year review actually makes good sense in view of the number of pairings that do not have any history or tradition to support them.

  5. Can’t believe they gave us the Cocks. Kirby probably loves it because of less travel than Kentucky, though.

    • While we haven’t lost in Lexington in a while, those are some of the most god-awful ugly wins you could ever have (or great character builders if you look at it a different way). Personally, I won’t miss them.

    • The Augusta area will revive the Border Bash I am sure. It was a great event for charity.

  7. Works for me. I’d prefer KY over the Cocks (heh heh), but we got our 2 main rivals. Plus we still get to drink the nerds’ milkshakes every year.

  10. Dawgs are getting burned. Beamer’s going back to VA Tech and will be replaced by an invigorated Spurrier, Gators fire Napier and bring in a motivated Lane Kiffen, and Auburn will shitcan escort boy and bring in a rejuvenated Nick Saban. I read it on the internet so it must be true.

  11. Auburn fans are upset for drawing Vandy and many want LSU or Ole.

    IMO Drop Vandy from Auburn
    Drop Kentucky from Florida

    Auburn vs Florida can return and Vandy vs Kentucky can contiinue.

  12. Interesting that Texas A&M and Arkansas have the same 3 rivals, but not each other; Same thing for Alabama and Vanderbilt.

  13. I think the SEC office listened to the ADs who said they want less travel for permanent opponents. Therefore, we get South Carolina. All of this pretty much keeps the regional rivalries in place. Sure we lose a couple with LSU/Florida, the meteor game, and Georgia/Tennessee.

    I thought South Carolina had said they didn’t want Georgia as a permanent opponent. I thought it would be Kentucky.

    I could see the schedule makers with OU in Athens and, for ratings, sending us to Tuscaloosa to play Bama instead of Tennessee.

  16. Saw George Rogers from South Carolina Gamecocks get beat by Herschel Walker from the Georgia Bulldogs in 1980 my grand daddy had eye level seats Herschel should have won the Heisman but they had never given it to a freshman and George had earned it. Don’t think this ain’t no rivalry. Cocks!!

  17. SC is not a rivalry for us. Making them so just makes them more important than they deserve to be. It sucks that we got them but they would have committed a mass suicide if it hadn’t happened.

  18. Only for four years? Think they can keep from disrupting it before four years pass? Who is gonna play the part of Miss Les Miles screaming every year how unfair it is?
