To good not to share.

The magic man, Ron Courson, is stepping off the field.

Per the article:
The University of Georgia Athletic Association’s Director of Sports Medicine Ron Courson is expected to transition away from his role this February after serving the Dawgs program for more than 30 years. Courson, who has been renowned by many as one of the nation’s best will be beginning a position as Executive Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Health and Performance on February 1st.
Our practice facilities need to become a cushioned bounce-house, and we should consider conducting spring practices with these:

Best of luck in the new role to a DGD.
If you wish to debate that, give Nick Chubb a call first.
Well, so much for traditions and regional balance for miles travelled for a national championship.

Also, peep the date. Are they trying to compete with the Super Bowl at this point? For reference, the game would be played tomorrow…how’s that for “the season was too long”. And yes, that’s on a Monday…again.
The Committee is unconcerned with your personal joy of the game. Maybe it’s foreshadowing a west coast team in the 2027 iteration.
FTMFs.
Thus far, Kirby has done a great job to address the needs at wideout for 2025…but is the portal work done?
While there’s a host of young talent that should be rising to the top of the rosters this spring, I’m left to wonder if Kirby has moved away from his NIL strategy last year of bolstering the LOS. In the wake of the Irish loss, two interior linemen entered the portal, and one instantly found a home.

Is Kirby trusting Searel’s development skills? One quick note when looking at the number of snaps returning for OLs in the SEC next year:

I’d imagine a good number of those are occupied by Greene and Bobo, but what about the rest? Given the up and down nature of line play I don’t recall many younger linemen getting significant snaps (probably because we rarely scored enough to warrant garbage time snaps).
Will the spring portal yield some more help for the offensive line?
Deep in the heart of Texas…

And they’re already projecting Beck to the Cowboys in 2026.
I hope Carson has a good financial advisor, because he’s going to need to invest that NIL money.
This came out a month ago, but it’s worth a look again given the earlier post. Here’s the actual schedule, which, unlike previous seasons, isn’t just the inverse of the prior season:

Honestly, there’s not an easy month on there, but September is going to decide our fate early. Get through September with one loss, we have a chance. Drop back to back against the Vowels and the Gumps, and I think we’re done. Based on some of the end of season projections, as well, we are likely facing two ranked teams each month (Bama and Vols in Sept, Auburn and Ole Miss in Oct, and the Lagway Lizards, Texa$$, and Tech in November…Yeesh).
We already have the narrative to break in 2025 that the SEc was overrated all these years, so going 1-1 against Tennessee and Alabama won’t necessarily be viewed like it used to be. What’s worse, we all know that Tennessee seems to do better early in the year and fades late, so how Tennessee looks early along with whatever Kirby’s curse is with Alabama, and we’re in for a tough September.
All that with a new QB under center (rumors are Puglisi is giving Gunner a run for QB1, supposedly) a rebuilt offensive line and lots of gaps to fill on defense.
At least our special teams will be solid, right?
What hesitations to do you have about the schedule? Will $a key give us the evening prime time slots for the home games like he did when we visited these teams in 2024?
I have to say, even my jaded self is still (maybe foolishly) looking forward to next season:

Of course that doesn’t include Georgia hosting Marshall, but there’s plenty of good games for a season opener. Some of the preseason early prognostication is looking favorable for Georgia, too:

And this is a maybe little bit absurd:

Florida and Auburn relevant again? Is Noah building another cruise ship or something?
Speaking of next season…which game are you most looking forward to? Alabama in Athens? A revenge game with Ole Miss in town?
What are your hopes/optimism for 2025 and the ‘Dawgs?
Welp, the Committee believed they got the best matchups and the model worked. The best tournament in the histories of tournaments was played.

Eh, one problem, Mickey.

In retrospect, they would’ve been better off having Oregon play Clemson. Note to ESPN 2025: Ohio State must be eliminated…
I wonder what made the viewing tank…Notre Dame or Ohio State? Maybe both.
I’m sure that nothing but good will come of this.

If anything, why are they leaving two other conferences out of the conversation? Why doesn’t Notre Dame get a seat at the table, or are the South Bend Saviors fine with the leftovers and self-sustaining through their robust coffers?
We already saw the decrease in the regular season game’s value, which was foretold would be the result of expansion. Now that the mission has been accomplished, people will see the rivalries as less important as well as the regionalism of prior conference affiliation (see PAC teams playing in the other three conferences), resulting in a final mass conglomerate of the money makers of college football.
So what will they call the final merger of all conferences? The Herbstreit Conference? The ESPNCAA? Fantasyland?
Holy shit, if I ever mention that Tennessee or Alabama fans are bad in the social media world, either group pales in comparison to B1G self-fellating over their bought and paid for national championship. And to ensure that their legacy is cemented, look at this nonsense:

Cool, let’s talk about their quality wins against a slate of unranked opponents, shall we?
And there has been an unending stream of this nonsense, as well:

Mind you, they only beat one ranked team in the regular season, so all those wins came via a playoff system that had never been instituted before. I mentioned yesterday, many of those wins above are against teams I’d argue are overrated and inflated by the CFP Committee for many many weeks.
The B1G vs SEC debate is raging. Do yourself a favor and don’t get involved in any discussion threads…it’s like arguing with a chihuahua. Noisy and pointless, resulting in crap everywhere that you didn’t want to deal with in the first place.
