Carson Beck, We Hardly Knew Thee

As you are aware, Miami’s season came to an end in a painfully familiar way on Monday night. The wonder kids of Indiana took it all, but not without some last minute drama. Enter Carson Beck, who did what started to become a patented Carson Beck thing to do.

How often has it happened? Well…

So, after the fawning and media drooling over the disrespect Carson endured, at one point quoting the quarterback that he came to Miami to fall in love with football again, how did Carson exit stage left? Not gracefully.

Hey, he’s at least not as bad as Diego Pavia. He’ll have that going for him as he enters the Draft in April.

  1. The new Carson looks like the old Carson.

My lasting memory of him will be his first G Day. He throws a pick then walks off to sulk alone totally ignoring his teammates.

    • My brother and I still reference the pick 6 he threw against UAB (after Stetson torched them the entire 1st half). It wasn’t that he threw a pick, because those happen. It was his attitude, his body posture, along with the lack of any effort to tackle the guy, that showed his character.

      • Yeah, that one still sticks in my craw. Threw the pick 6 and just stood there and watched the guy run it back.

I don’t hate the guy like some fans do, and I don’t blame him for going to Miami. But I do think he lacks the leadership gene required for great teams. In other words, I expect the Failcons to draft him. LOL

  2. I don’t hate the guy, I don’t respect him. Any shade from a UGA fan is construed as sour grapes. That said, he handles adversity like a 3 year old.

  3. “I graduated” haven’t been to class in two years”. He should have spent those two years in a class teaching you how to interact and socialize. Maybe a course on, How to improve on ones personality and character!

    • He went to online classes for his masters. He is not currently enrolled because he is not playing next year. He was enrolled in the fall.
He had no people skills but that complaint is manufactured to create drama.
Good luck to Carson. Gunner is our guy.

  4. Maybe I’ve missed it but he is not getting a lot of draft hype (seems like he got more last year, but that’s probably because it was nearer to what I was paying attention to…). Not sure if it is the picks, or attitude, or both, but hoping he didn’t spend the entire $4MM as he does not look to have it for the NFL….

  5. Yep ole Carson being ā€œnewā€ Carson. All about ā€œmeā€. Never will change. He’s a social turd full of himself. All the media did was give him a forum to throw his past school, teammates, fans and coaches under the bus. RIP college underachiever.

  6. I really don’t feel any ill will at him transferring to the U. He had waited his turn at UGA and had his one season, which ended with him having a terrible injury but coming into hand off the ball to win it. Now, does he have a great personality, no. He will make some pro team a good backup but only the Falcons would be crazy enough to waste a draft pick on him.

  7. Ugly pick. All day, clean pocket yet underthrown and never looked off the safety. That was not the receiver to go to in that moment. I blame Bobo. But it was the blocked punt that lost them the game. Falcons have him high on their draft board since he is no longer a Dawg.

  8. Carson’s in Danger…of dropping on NFL team’s draft boards. Seriously, though, I’d leave the field as quickly as possible if I were dating that chick. Who knows what she’s up to when he’s not looking…off the safety. I’ll be here all week. Try the veal.
