Be Violent

Yes. Yes, more.

If OLBs are replacing our edge rushers in our scheme, we need the ultraviolence. I like the coaching on technique, but the passion, fire, and energy, along with the violence, is what I like the most.

OLBs set the edge, defend the run, blitz the quarterback, and cover people leaking from the offensive formation. There’s a lot they can do, but getting to the quarterback and protecting the horizontal areas of the field, to me, is priority one. Chaos. Havoc. Letting loose the dogs of war. Doesn’t matter to me, just be influential.

Looks like they’re in good hands.

    • I graduated UGA in the seventies. As I look waaaay back, my grandson’s flag football team now gets way better technical coaching than I did in high school. The one thing that they did stress from my little league through high school was holding the edge and turning the play back in.

  1. “…that way you’re occupying two players….” Yes. Team. Assignment. Discipline. Help your teammates make a play rather than be all about you.
