Auburn’s cast of thousands may be down one

Well, well, well …

The effect of NIL with unrestricted transfers (although this is Coleman’s first portal) is another topic for another day.

Folks in Greater Opelika can’t be happy with the new staff if Coleman leaves for Tuscaloosa.

I've been a Dawg my entire life. UGA was always my dream school where I received 2 Terry College degrees and met my DGD wife. I've been a season ticket holder for over 30 years and love the in-stadium experience over anything from Section HD. My first game in Sanford Stadium was the 1981 Auburn game where we clinched the SEC championship. The best game I've attended in person was the Midnight Miss against Ohio State (nite, nite!). The best home games I've attended were the 1984 Clemson game (the Butler did it) and the 2013 LSU game (that 4th down is still the loudest single moment I've experienced between the hedges). The game I love to win is against the Handbags (FTMF), and the game I hate to lose is the NATS (Tuck Fech).

  1. The #1WR commit to Michigan was released from his LOI and is rumored to be heading to the Plaintigglesmen. This would be a direct result, if true.

      • With no heisman qb on the roster, why should this wr stick around the cesspool….what, for another check, shiiiit, he can git that check from peeps that appreciate those quality stats….#AUBURN SUCKS!!

  2. The Michigan flip WR might be driving this. I don’t get all that worked up over a single transfer as far as the coach goes. We’ll see how things shake out after a few seasons. Sometimes it is best for someone to go.

If a player transfers I usually wish him the best. If he starts running his mouth or was a jerk while on my team, that may change to varying degrees.

Just speaking hypothetically, right? Not that anyone who played on the 2021 team and subsequently played on a team to our west would fit that description.

  3. In other news, Faulkner took another staffer from the Nerds to the Handbags.
McKnight the WRs coaching is going with him.

      • Agreed but at the same time, GT has played us closer than their talent level should allow. I am not scared but I do think the WLOCP maybe a bit tougher than it has been the past few years. But, then again a coach’s increased access to talent does not always translate to a better team.

As I have posted before I don’t think Key is a great football mastermind but he hired well getting GT a W away from a ACC CG trip. The bowl game from what I’ve read kind of proves he’s not the great strategist but is an above average hiring manager. It’ll be interesting to see how he rebuilds.

Just observations from watching the landscape of CFB and our annual games.

  4. Pretty sure Georgia recruited him hard. I think Kirby was looking for a one-year rental WR in the portal…

  5. I get Coleman’s “potential” stock and having the measurables, but he has not posted great numbers against us. I suspect blocking is not a skill he wants to put hard work in to develop, so that want get us on his short list, which I am fine with.
