As a Reminder, We’re About to Enter Winter

Sad times, especially since engagement drops so much once Georgia ends the season, but we are headed into the long doldrums that exist between now and spring practice and then summer. As a reminder of the idiocy we have to look forward to, here is this:

Geez. Say it ain’t so. Hang in there with us, Refugees. We will make it through all this, together.

  1. I’ll set this as the background on my phone, so I can quickly show this to all the off-season lunatics.

(And in the spirit of off-season engagement, I’ll do better. Not saying that I’ll add quality but there will be quantity. I certainly linger on the shadows all day everyday. Thanks for what y’all do here!)

  2. The media just can’t help itself. It’s not just this. Ol’ whatshisface, the Bracket Master or whatever, on ESPN usually puts out his NCAA bracket predictions for the next season within a week of the basketball championship. They’re all idiots, but even moreso in this age of transfers. Nobody has any idea whose playing on any team the next year.

    • I’d assume these folks will have bama gone and Indiana all over it for 2026. LSU will be a fashionable pick as well.

But the truth is, in this portal world, no one is going to know shit until you see your team under fire a few times.

We didn’t know what we had until mid-October.

      This is abundantly clear though:

You better stay healthy along both LOS. Long hard slog and winning is about being the more physical, more mentally tough, better conditioned team once again.

You know football and not basketball on grass. I am very appreciative of that outcome.

  3. 13 (if I did my count correctly) of those predictions didn’t even play in a playoff game and multiple of those ended the season unranked.

These talking heads have no idea what they are talking about.

    • None. But they still get paid a bag to spew inane nonsense.

      Skycast is my safe space.

      Love it.

    • While you’re certainly correct you already knew they were full it.

Thanks again for reminding us that this is the genius collective that help shape control of CFB.

  4. For all the hot and crazy taeks on this site, it is still better than paying attention to anyone on that list….

    • Agreed. At least none of us are getting paid or promoting ourselves as professionals.

I’d rather read random nonsense from a poster than hear it from guy making 7 figures to pollute my brain.

  5. where is the boise st, james madison, Tulane, BYU, Coastal Carolina love on these preseason picks
Texas and Penn St must equal job security in the halls of we know wtf we are really really really really talking about…

  6. Seems like Texas and Penn State are obvious choices. Its not like they are the type of programs to underachieve, right?

  7. Texas is BACK! And I’ll take 34 black in roulette…it’s due to hit!

  8. Those that picked Texas, Clemson and penn state, please do not link articles, blogs or commentary from these idiots. Their opinions are the equivalent to the football knowledge held by Laura Rutledge’s kids making pregame predictions.

  9. I’ll be here. In a weird way off-season is my favorite time here because even though there is no football I still have this place. If it weren’t for yall, Brooks Austin, and Radi Nabulsi (and Randi’s content drops off during the off-season some) it would be a long sad off-season. I’ll be around helping keep the fire going until next season.
