If you’re intrigued in watching the nuclear meltdown that is the Alabama fanbase, then you’ll enjoy this tidbit with your morning coffee. Is it Saban leaving? Was it Kirby’s departure for Athens?
Nah, it’s that darned NIL. Never mind that Alabama has the composite “most talented” team on paper based on the past years of recruiting and the talent they’ve acquired, it’s that the pockets aren’t quite as deep as others.
Maybe it’s true, maybe it’s not.
Maybe it is because of Metchie and Williams.
this is comical coming from the college football organization that set the bar for under the table payments. cry on dear bammers, cry on.
Broke Back Bama…in more ways than one. 😉
Post of the day!
Hey, AJ. You are a fool. Bud Elliott clearly disagrees with you – transfers or not.

Try again, Bammers.
Bama had 2 of the greatest coaches in football to spoil them.
Bammer has been getting soft forever. The first sign was when Trevor blasted them in the natty.
They did not go the FPE way like Kirby did.
They doubled down with star qbs and deer running to open grass and theyve just regressed to the point of being soft as tissue paper.
I guess Vandy has more in the NIL coffers than those guys huh?
Bammers, it’s all cyclical. Even for you. Dumbasses.
@MrGo30…Coach 30 on X has his bama video up. Always funny but the highlight clips show how far bama players have regressed. Soft and no effort.
If y’all haven’t seen Kiffin talking to Theo Vonn about Saban it’s worth a watch. He talked about how things were done the same way all the time with no deviation from “the process” at all. Kiffin said a lot of Saban’s frustration with him was based on his asking questions. Saban did things one way and they were always done only that way. Kiffin said after winning the NC they had a coach’s meeting the next morning and Saban said, “We’re behind. We have still been playing and everybody else has been recruiting.” Kiffin said he couldn’t believe they had a coach’s meeting that morning like it was any other day. But that was Saban and that was why he succeeded the way he did.
Brooks Austin said he believes Deboer is trying to run things like an NFL team and that Alabama isnt hitting in practice. There are no bloody Tuesdays. He said the only way you get defenders taking terrible angles like they did against Florida State is not seeing it live in practice. I don’t know if he’s right or wrong but it makes sense.
I think I posted a clip from the Theo podcast a while back. It was interesting insight into the inner circle of SEC coaches and the Saban coaching tree. While I think Alabama would drive a dump truck of cash up to Lane’s house to get him out of Oxford, Kiffin has gotten so relaxed and balanced at Ole Miss I don’t see him wanting to leave. Especially if they’re successful in 2025, why leave the cozy Grove for the lunacy that is Alabama football?
There’s been lots of reports (speculation?) about players getting DoorDash at 2 am the night before the FSU game and being allowed access to their girlfriends while in the hotel. Lots of tape from the game of players taking off plays as well as Ryan Williams feigning an injury to get out of the game.
Speaking of, after Williams’ break out performance against Georgia, I saw somewhere where he hasn’t broken 100 yards receiving or scored a touchdown outside of a game against Mercer. Here’s hoping no one has a breakout game and disappears after they travel to Athens. We need to just make them all disappear.
Nobody who followed Saban was going to last long but everything about Deboer just screamed “This is not the guy!” to me. They seem soft. And Ryan Williams seems S.O.F.T. This would have been met with hissing on the old sight and I still would have posted it, Im pretty sure that kid is light in the loafers. It what’s much worse and more important is he seems entitled.
Yet that fucker beat our Dawgs right out of the gate.
Fix it, Kirby.
I would agree that lack of hitting in practice shows up on gameday. It’s been my pet theory of why our defense looked out of sorts last year. I know we had Bloody Tuesdays but I still wonder if they dialed back some intensity to save the team knowing that the new playoff required extra games.
It is too early to say that the defense is back to its previous standards but I don’t know that if there was a lack of hitting it was due to so many of our top guys being older and having significant injury history or injuries last season. I mean how many snaps did Walker and Mikel play last year, and of that number how often were the two of those guys healthy at the same time?
Maybe it was the total lack of “want to” the gumps exhibited in front of a National audience and a clueless DCoordinator.
Saban himself said he knew it was time to go when after their season ending loss. The next day players were lined up wanting to talk about increasing their own NIL deals. Without NIL Saban is still coaching and winning. Now I agree players deserve payment. There’s no denying it’s forever changed CFB.
His last two seasons his teams had lost their discipline. He couldn’t create fear in his players anymore. The current coach wants to be their buddy. Ice creams socials don’t create more accountability or effort any more than team swimming events. Looking at you CMR. I am a very big Richt fan. Wonderful person couldn’t ask for better. He just lacked that killer instinct as a coach. He also never got the support he deserved from his boss.
It’s easy to make the argument Kirby was their secret sauce. Hard work, personal accountability with team leaders showing the right way to the youngsters. Then passing it on to the next group. With young kids getting large sums of cash. That culture is the hardest thing in coaching to maintain. How to you motivate kids sitting on piles of cash with agents and hangers on telling them how great they already are. Kirby seems to have a better grip on it than anyone else.
Look at Kirby’s press conference and his response to Brandon Adams’ “incentivize” question. As part of that answer Kirby said, “We don’t incentivize players to go hard every play. We aren’t going to tell them we will give them more NIL money if they do it.
They have to do it because they want to be great.” Kirby is always sending a message and he will be the guy to continue to succeed NIL spoiled brat culture not withstanding.
Screw Bama. On 9-27, let’s whip their ass & get them off of our mind.
