A Six PAC

Don’t get used to the term P4 for too long. The PAC-2 is expanding, although “Power” seems to be a relative term.

So…what happens to the CFP? Is there a 5th bye added and do they use this as grounds to expand further, or do we go BCS style and give the top 4 computer ranked teams the byes?

I should’ve paid more attention to the Senator’s warnings about this day that shall come. Sheesh.

  1. The 6-Pac is now in the mid major G-5(6) conference category. At-large only. Their r-tarded commissioner screwed the pooch and ran off their best schools. Sorry Beavs and Cougs, y’all aren’t top tier anymore…..

  2. This conference needs be called the State-6. Who will be the next to join in Utah State maybe Florida State?

    • I was thinking more of “Pac State,” which sounds like a 90’s indie movie that will receive some critical praise, but ultimately crashes at the box office and can’t even get shown on some mid-tier streaming service. So maybe that name is apt…

  3. I can’t imagine there will be much TV money thrown at them in broadcast rights for these teams. Part of the issue of why the larger teams broke free from several conferences was because the smaller teams were getting the same piece of the pie but had a far less TV draw.

  4. Still the top 5 ranked conference champions are the only ones with automatic bids to the CFP. I don’t see the Power 4 (really 2) agreeing to give away an auto bid over the current at-large spot just because Wazzou and Oregon State found some G5 schools to join them.

This really is nothing but a big yawn.

If Kliakoff could have found a way to entice Oregon, Washington, Utah and the Arizona schools to stay and then pick up BYU, Boise and Fresno/SDSU along with the 4 remaining P12 schools, he could have held the Pac 12 together similar to the ACC.

He is such a sucker to have gone along with Kevin Warren to form the “alliance.”

  5. This could put the ACC in an interesting place giving Cal and Stanford an option.

I remember something about if the ACC drops below a number of full time members the conference more less dissolves.

  6. I’m watching Arizona State and Texas State. I can tell the season is young because I’m still watching any game that’s on just because it’s football. Nobody wants to win this game. See y’all in the morning.
