Off-Season Sh*t Posting Buffoonery: Best SEC QBs of the 21st Century

Rage bait, or sheer idiocy?

Seriously, numbers 9 and 10 are just plain stupid.

Consider this stat line:

Quarterback A: 302 completions on 417 attempts, 72.4% completion percentage, 24TD/6INT, 3941 passing yards, 285.1 yards per game; 862 yards rushing, 10 rush TDS – 34 total TDs

Quarterback B: 267 completions on 378 attempts, 70.1% completion percentage, 29TD/8INT, 3539 yards, 272.2 yards per game; 116 yards rushing, 4 rush TDs – 33 total TDs

Quarterback C: 217 completions on 377 attempts, 57.6% completion percentage, 16TD/6INT, 2542 yards, 195.5 yards per game; 332 yards rushing, 7 rush TDS – 23 total TDs

Quarterback D: 269 completions on 386 attempts, 69.7% completion percentage, 24TD/5ING, 2894 yards, 206.7 yards per game; 462 yards rushing, 10 rush TDS – 34 total TDs

Take a guess who is who. Two of those are the best stats for two SEC quarterbacks, the other two are the best stats for two UGA quarterbacks, by comparison. I’ll give some spacer here so you can guess without cheating.

+++++

So, quarterback A was Diego Pavia in 2025. Quarterback C was Bo Nix in his best statistical year as a SEC QB, not as a B1G QB, which was his freshman year at Auburn.

Quarterback B?

Those were his stats from the 2023 season, believe it or not.

Now, on to Quarterback D…

The 2025 campaign for Gunner Stockton.

Just imagine if I put the stats up for Aaron Murray or Stetson Bennett among this group.

Of all the pre-season rankings that are out there, this certainly was one of them.

To their credit, at least they didn’t find a way to squeeze Arch Manning into the list.

  1. After I read this list yesterday, my IQ went down 20 points. Any list of the 10 best SEC QBs of any era that has Bo Pix on it over Aaron Murray, SBIV, Matthew Stafford and David Greene isn’t worth the cloud storage space it’s on.

Your response on X was excellent.

  2. As much as a still loathe Cam he’s actually pretty good at the podcast thing. That is if you aren’t distracted by his…outfits. Shout out to the late Fred Gwynn as the judge in My Cousin Vinnie.

  3. Murray not on that list is incredible. Same with Stetson. Stafford should be on the list too, but I don’t think his omission is egregious like the other two. Stafford didn’t win sh!t and really isn’t much more deserving than Nix or Pavia who also didn’t win anything.

  4. “Shit posting buffoonery”, could this be in consideration for GTP lexicon…. whut you like about this three word combo, switch ’em around and you’ve got a whole new drinking game….GO DAWGS!!

  5. Whoever made this list has a job that shouldn’t be in that job or either they are extremely anti-UGA. I would bet it’s the latter.

  6. Lil Stet ain’t walking through that door nor do we play any of the players on the list. Who cares? What matters is will Gunnar get coached up to hit open dudes down the seam. That’s the only thing that matters about quarterback play in the history of the universe: WILL GUNNAR BE COACHED UP TO IMPROVE HIS READS. If not, then we’re staring down the barrel of not winning anything. We are a program in crisis! We’ve lost one in a row and ain’t won jack shit since December 6. Worrying about Timothy Richard Tebow’s place on a list I didn’t present y’all is Tennessee Volunteer sister kissing, buttchugging, sucking at everything school level loserdom. Be better

  7. Number 4 on their list went over like a turd in the punch bowl…most of the sports media folks just clickbait and want fanbases to gird their loins…they can just suck it

  8. Joe Burrow’s sr season was the best of any SEC QB ever. He had NFL receivers to help but he was just about perfect.
