Pro Day in Athens – Is a Former Bulldog About to Join the Staff?

Most of the news yesterday on the Dawgs had to do with Pro Day, the gigantic Atlanta Falcons contingent that came, and then there was an unusual sighting of someone unique throwing to the draftable receivers.

Interesting, usually it’s one of our quarterbacks or staffers doing it, but it was Fromm. I wonder if he’s working his way back to the program to be a staffer? I wouldn’t hate it. DGD.

Oscar Delp finally got to show out to folks, missing the Combine because of a hairline fracture, and apparently, he didn’t disappoint.

He ran a 4.4-40. By contrast, Bowers ran a 4.53-40 at the Combine a few years back. Man, it really feels like we didn’t utilize Delp properly in his time in Athens, but he’ll make some noise in the NFL, I’m sure.

Apparently, another guy made an impression on the visiting pros, and it might not be who you’d think it would be.

I figured Cash would just head back to the farm. But if you can get it, I heard it’s good work up there in the pros. Best of luck to him.

  1. Damn. Those are some nice 40 times. How fast is freaking London Humphries then? Speed has never been mentioned with Delp or Cash that I recall, but Humphries had a reputation as a burner coming from Vanderbilt. If those two are throwing down 4.4s, London must really be able to fly.

  2. Cash is a very talented player. People always downgraded him because he started out as a walk-on. Go back and watch the TD he scored against Clemson year before last. He catches a pass out of the backfield, stiff arms a DB into the turf, makes the corner and tightropes the sideline and dives the last three yards to the pylon, He’s gonna play for somebody.

  3. Regarding the TE’s, Delp became a blocking TE rather than a receiving TE. You know, like the old days, SMH.

  4. I suppose Fromm throwing on Pro Day could be a way to work his way into a position on staff but I would think it might be a way to show NFL teams he still has a live arm and deserves an invite to training camp.
