Spring Ball Practice Notes from the Twitter Feed, Day 1

I have no inside intel or anything more to offer than what I see on the socials. First, there’s some number changes:

From this, Taylyn Taylor switched the cursed number 11 from his jersey to 1. Demello Jones is 8.

Also:

That’s no lie. We have a lot of junior experience with some key transfers and we are an older team. This is all true.

Also, for those of you who are crazy about the white jerseys, Kirby offered some marketing advice if you desire to see the white alternative jerseys on game day, or at least, G Day:

“I’ll wear that shit” sounds forced and very un-Kirby, but that’s the modern day of college football, amirite?

  1. Who gives a shot about the white outfits.
Remember when Oregon was touting multiple jerseys etc, Saban said, “I am more worried about the athletes in the jerseys than the color of the jersey “.
    Selah

    • I agree completely. Those Power Ranger uniforms didn’t help the largest OL in organized football (college or NFL) beat Boise State. And those awful “fake juice” uniforms we wore against Florida only served to make people think it was Grambling receiving that ass-beating from Florida.

We have the best uniforms in CFB. No need to fuck with them.

    • A: 19 year old football players.

Should they? No. Telling them their focus is misplaced is a good response.

On the other hand IF, and that’s a big damn if, these kids want to kick back an amount of their NIL sufficient to please CKS and to wear them, why not?

  2. Leave’m alone. We don’t need no tricks to whip ass! Agree, best looking uniforms in CFB! We are who we are!!!🏈🏈🏈

  3. He says wearing a white quarter zip. We need to get him a GTPR one to wear at a presser. I’ll gladly pay for it.

  4. I think everyone has missed the headline. Kirby is wearing a Glory Glory pullover while begging for subscriptions to a collective. Not Nike, not team issued gear, not even officially licensed UGA gear, but rather apparel supporting a collective. Kirby is about one thing only…talent. How to you get talent in the current college athletics environment? Money. Players and money, money and players. Kirby’s superpower is recruiting, and NIL has severely weakened his ability to recruit.

    • No point missed.
Just don’t plan to fund glory or any collective. The universities have all the money they need with more pouring in, with all due respect.

    • Some might argue that we were better positioned when the payments were “unauthorized.”

Not me of course. But some.

    • Mo money, mo money…
I would argue that NIL has hurt everyone’s ability to recruit except for a few like Notre Dame or Miami or Texas. The rest of us are sucking hind tit from now on.

  5. If you only care about the athletes in the uniform then the uniform colors literally don’t matter. It seems sort of corny to sprain your undercarriage’s feelings over uniforms. If the dudes that run 4.4s and blow chumps up want a different look, so what? If Kirby says yes or no, so what? Screeching and reeing over uniforms if the fakest news, ever. We are a program on a one game losing streak and ain’t won a damn thing since December 6th. Eyes on the prize, Dawgs. This ain’t no haberdashery.

  6. I doubt Kirby wants any uniform changes. I’m fairly certain there is a number from the uniform supplier that unfortunately could change that opinion.
