Beat the Spread, Or Spread it Out?

Just a reminder for you betting folks out there.

Does the spread matter? Would you rather see a Georgia cover, or would you rather see the 2s and 3s getting a lot of playing time?

  1. Lots of playing time for back ups.
Both back up qbs play 3 & 4 qtrs.
    Screw the betting line

  2. I’d rather our 2s and 3s play the whole game. And cover the spread.

  3. I may have to re-think my Fabris Pool mantra of never picking against the Dawgs this week. Get those 2s and 3s some playing time!

  4. Gambling degenerates! My sense is Kirby’s teams have generally >50% covered the spread but missed the over against all competition. I’m sure someone knows how to check that stat. If true then betting the Dawgs to cover plus the under and avoiding FCS type games gives one a positive return. Doubling down on beating Texass enhances that! 🤣

  5. Good teams win
    Great teams cover
Dynasties develop every single asset on the roster

Kirby’s in the Dynasty bidness so lets get every senior, walk on and roster guy in the game Saturday!

    #GoDawgs

  6. Rather see backups getting reps to help prepare them for being quality depth in the post season. CFP success for any team hinges of staying relatively healthy and having depth that isn’t a big drop off.

    • Understanding Mickey only wants one sec team in it’s top 4, UGA football will have to stay on top, scoring 40 plus this Saturday/Senior day, texas tech could be that shiny object Micky needs to push expansion, sooner, rather than later…GO DAWGS!!

  7. So many backups I want the uninformed to think we’re overrated when they see the final score.

    • We have lots of rat poison to counteract from last week’s ass-whipping. A 17 point win by the backups against CLT will be a nice antidote.

  8. Significant 2s and 3s time would be great. Start fast like 10 to 12 minutes of shock and awe!

    • Get up by 28 very early … subs play 2nd quarter … put in our trainers and managers in 3rd … finish by letting our male cheerleaders “manball” the 4th. If the score gets too high, insert our female cheerleaders and Redcoat clarinetists.

  9. Its a no brainer – get the 2s, 3s and even 4s some PT! Lack of blowouts last year hurt the development of our young roster this year to where you are just now seeing those young players finally have enough game experience to perform at a higher level.

  10. Style points are supposed to be ignored by the committee, yet a lot of coaches still love them.
Kirby doesn’t play that game very often (exceptions TCU and FSU)
Gunner taking a knee on the UF 1yd line…how many coaches have that mind set?
    Just win!!

    • The kneel at the 1 against FU vs the onside kick up 11 against Texas is the real headscratcher for me. I know which Kirby I like, the gambling one! (Especially when it works.)

      • I think Kirby was thinking how TX has fast WR’s and if Manning hit a long one, it would be a one score game and the cows with the momentum…maybe? (but then..we have to weigh that against “what if TX recovered that kick?”)…Yep, the knee against UF is easily explainable compared to the OSK.

      • Call me crazy but not only did Kirby guarantee the win but also he showed some respect to the UF coaches with whom he has personal relationships. He had made his personal feelings for friend and former Alabama assistant Billy Napier known (plus Napier’s Father, Kirby’s Father and Mike Bobo’s Father were long time Georgia high school head coaches and all good friends) plus Kirby coached with at least 4 current UF assistants on the opposite sidelines at the Cocktail Party.
Kirby talked before and after the game about his respect for those guys and how hard the coaching change is on their families.
I think in part it was a gesture to make the bus ride back to Gainesville a little less bitter for friends going through a tough patch in their careers.

  11. CKS doesn’t care about the spread – especially in games like this, so why should we as fans?

He wants the team to play to his and the program standards. He wants to get experience for as many guys on the team as he can. It helps depth-wise but think about what it does for the confidence and psyche for those Dawgs on the team who put in the same amount of b,s,t each practice and have not had the opportunity to make a significant game contribution.

  12. Kirby covers the spread when I take the points. When I lay the points, he doesn’t. He hates me and never wants me to do well in the Fabris pool.

    • It’s Bobo’s fault. He sucks and we’re never going to win while he’s here.
