I Want to Be a Team Player

I love me some Dillon Bell.

I’m certain that Bell is exactly who Kirby is looking for on the team…loves football, loves the team. I even heard that Bell recruited the Branch Brothers to come to Georgia. Reminds me a little of LeCounte.

Go ‘Dawgs!

  1. Some times we “Ring the bell”, we have now heard “The Bell”, this kinda’ talk can be contagious…”Trust the Process”…look out mofo’s, “For whom the Bell tolls, it tolls for UGA football”, it just might take a toll on UGA football opposition in 2025…GO DAWGS!!

  2. Good on him. Hope he overcomes last year’s slump in receiving and we use him out of the backfield again.

  3. Give Kirby a team full of Hines Ward and Dillon Bell and the Mailman and your ass is toast when you line up against them

  4. One of my favorites! Houston, baby! Looking forward to seeing him star this year.

  5. Years ago when Sports Illustrated was all sports rather than “issues” and was a good read they did a really good write up on Bill Parcels. Among the other aspects of his coaching philosophy that were described, a lot of time was spent on the fact that Parcels wanted a certain type of player. There was a blueprint and he wanted guys with a very specific personality and mindset. Often times they weren’t stars. He wanted guys with unusual physical and mental toughness who were unselfish and cared about winning more than stats or attention.

If you remember some of his teams you could spot what the article referred to as “Parcels guys.” Once you see it you can’t unsee it. Bill Belechic went after the exact same type of player. In an interview Chad Johnson did a few years ago he said he was glad he got to play in New England just so he could see how they did it. He said the first thing Belechic ever said to him was, “You know you’re gonna have to change who you are to play here, right?” Johnson said, “I’ve never been in the military but I imagine it being kind of like that. Up there everybody is the same. You do things the Patriot way or you dont play there.”

Nick Saban went after the same kind of player and so does Kirby. Dillon Bell is the embodiment of that type of player. Kirby might have gotten away from that a little bit but it seems like he realized it and is going back to it.
