I attempted to watch some of last night’s Duke-Alabama elite eight game, and decided I’d rather go to bed early. Honestly it was another in a long line of instances, like watching the Ohio State-Tennessee or Notre Dame-Penn State CFP games, where the only thing that would make it enjoyable is to see during what point of the game the meteor would hit.
Anyway, I woke this morning and saw the score, and still found reason to smile in knowing that somewhere a Gump out there just turned the decibel level down on their “roll tide” proclamations that would be sounded at today’s church services or trailer parks throughout the southeast. Then I saw this:
Ah, yes. It’s poor ole Bama versus the world, right?
This is your monthly reminder of this.
Sigh.
It’s never because the other team was better, or played a better game. The Gumps always have an excuse for a loss. It’s ironic that they blame the officials when the term “Bama privilege ” has been around for years.

But seriously though, I’ve never seen that picture before, where was the guy who threw the flag on Tyler standing? Oh who aml i kidding. He was obviously standing next to Saban awaiting his instructions.

I watched it – Bama couldn’t make a layup, free throw, 2 point shot or 3 point shot. They looked like me out on my driveway just throwing stuff up. Duke shut them down on defense. It was really amazing how badly overmatched they were. There were a couple of questionable calls but nowhere near enough to overcome their porous defense and horrendous shooting
