Gone, In a Snap

Carson Beck might want to enroll in a course at Miami that many of us didn’t get and learned the hard way: Rules of Holes 101. First, he has a bad season, that lead many people to speculate about his focus and attention on the game with his very public relationship via the Socials with Influencer and Miami Hurricane basketball star, Hanna Cavinder.

Next, he got scrutinized pretty heavily for leaving Georgia for a fresh start at Miami and a chance to repair his damaged throwing arm. It was easily understood, though, as it would put him closer to his sweetheart. The apparently lucrative NIL deal awaiting him didn’t hurt, either. The NFL could wait. South Beach and a beautiful girlfriend were calling him back to the Sunshine State.

Well, hold the phone. Literally.

In case you haven’t heard about it, that’s a Snapchat message (called Snaps, for you Gen X or older folks) of Carson on a weekend excursion with his girlfriend and her twin, Haley. Problem is, that’s being sent to someone whose last name isn’t Cavinder, and Carson is alluding to his relationship ending…in a message sent to another female. I guess.

If you’re not familiar with Snapchat, it’s popular amongst the Gen Z set because the messages disappear after they are sent. Problem is, nothing really disappears from the e-universe. And people take pictures of Snaps.

Hole #1: This isn’t Beck’s first issue with risky Snaps.

Hole #2: Timing is everything. Carson could argue it was an old Snap, except he was wearing a very distinctive hat seen above in videos from his girlfriend’s socials from the past weekend.

Hole #3: Image is everything, especially in NIL Land. I wonder how much NIL money just disappeared in a *Snap* because Carson lost some of the female demographic that follows Hanna Cavinder.

Carson, quit digging, dude. And maybe in the future, keep your relationships private, otherwise you’re open to more public scrutiny and headaches than you ever desired.

Just ask Kelly Stafford.

  1. It was so much easier to philander before social media. Or so I’m told.

  2. Football damn sho wasn’t his top priority this past season. The whole team looked distracted because of it too. Hope he enjoys running for his life @ the shitty U.

  3. Playing for the U and making smart decisions are not things normally associated together. Given where he’s at with pockets full of cash and local fame. All that comes with the South Beach lifestyle. He better put down that shovel. As they say on the beach the woman be real but the body parts like their love are fake.

Trying to be fair if Beck had the same core receivers last season as he did the year before my belief is the season ends ever differently. Then he happily goes to the league.

  4. Aaron Murray asked if Carson had one of the biggest falls ever for a college player. Went from probably the first QB drafted (maybe even #1 overall) to a 3rd-4th round pick. Doing stupid shit on Snapchat won’t help his image with NFL GM’s who might question his maturity and leadership ability.

  5. When Charlie Ward was the hero of FSU, he came and spoke at one of our high-school FCA meetings. His sage advice to us was to never have three girlfriends at once. He said you can keep two happy, but three is too difficult.

Turned out that was an issue I never had to worry about lol, but I’ll definitely never forget it.

  6. Don’t know what’s going on between his ears but I’m glad it’s happening at a different location. Never felt like he was locked in last year, the games felt like an obligation & not a privilege or opportunity. Don’t have any facts to back it up, just my gut feeling. Started when he bought the Lamborghini. My wife & I both felt it sent a bad message. Barring a come to Jesus moment, so to speak, I’d be very surprised if he has success at the next level. Hope I’m wrong, I’ve always pulled for the kid. Loads of talent but something is missing. NIL may not have been a blessing to him outside the obvious financial gain.

  7. Beck seems to be caught up in the fame and fortune side of college athletics for the time being, and while I wish the best for him, I’m pretty okay with it being on another campus. I still think he’s got an NFL arm (for what little I know) so it will be interesting to see how it all plays out down the road. Hopefully Gunnar is all about ball, if he’s the guy, so we can get back to business this season.

  8. Meh. She has a butter face. Carson probably got tired of dating an Instagram influencer anyway. Probably will work out for him in the long run.
